I stayed here for an extended period of time in August. The moment I arrived I noticed how warm and peaceful it was. I immediately observed the garden in front and saw the massive cedar tree! The home was immaculate and well suited for all of my daily needs, including cooking. Her cat, Marmalade, added to my enjoyment . Ann was an incredible host and easy to work with. If I could give her and her home 10 stars I would.
If you enjoy using the kitchen and prefer cooking your meals, I would not recommend this place. A would frequently use the kitchen during my agreed 1 hr time frame. She would also have last min. guests over for meals. Having 2-3 people in the small kitchen can be crowded, awkward, and uncomfortable. Especially, when the dinner table is right behind the stove and sink. The landlord and her guests can watch you cook from behind. I told her that I want to respect her time and space in the kitchen/dinning room/laundry/fridge area and kindly asked to give notice before she has guests over. She did give a 4 day notice when she had a large party. Then it went to 8 hr notice and dwindled down to 1-3 hr notice for small parties. I would have to rush back after work/gym in order to use the kitchen. I overheard her say that she felt like she couldnt use her kitchen and that I was basically an inconvenience just for asking to use the kitchen for 1 hr/day M-F and 2 hrs/day over the weekend.
A is an excellent host, friendly, accommodating, and an excellent conversationalist. You will feel welcome. I moved to Lucerne to work at Walmart Pharmacy in Clearlake and I lived with A for two months. The bed was comfortable and it was nice to have my own private restroom. Her kitchen had everything I needed to cook my favorite meals. Even though I shared the kitchen with A, she was leaving the kitchen for me in the morning and when I come home from work. Overall I had a great stay. Thank you, A, for your kindness and hospitality. If anyone is looking for a place to stay, I would definitely recommend this place.

Retired classical musician/arts educator. I live quietly with my cat, Ginger. I enjoy a quiet house, good food, and the company of friends. My house is two blocks from rhe lake, and very close to Davis Park, which allows long walks along the shoreline. There is delicious food 1 mile away at the Lucerne Euromarket and Bistro.
