Comfortable for one. Occasional guests are welcome, but not suitable for 2 tenants. Private parking in extra wide driveway. Lighted sidewalk takes you from driveway to your private entrance.

Neighborhood overview

Quite neighborhood of mostly retired folks. One of 77 homes on North Chain Lake. Nearly half of the lake frontage is owned by Camp Ray Bird, a religious summer camp for kids. We look out at undeveloped share. 10 mph lake speed limit so no jet skis or water skiing. Spring fed, great for swimming and fishing. Lots of kayaks and paddle boarders.

D and D were very friendly and welcoming and provided a great place to stay. Very safe location with a short commute to downtown South Bend. Highly recommend for anyone looking for an affordable place to stay in the area!

D and D have created such a great space to stay! I was in South Bend for a spring internship and I could not have asked for better lodging. They are both so kind and welcoming, it truly felt like a home away from home. I would recommend anyone coming to South Bend snatch up this opportunity ASAP!! Their house is only about 15 minutes from downtown, and it is so peaceful on the little lake. Its the perfect location - far enough that you dont have to deal with college crowds but close enough that you can get anywhere you might want to go!

    We love living on the water! 10 mph limit on the lake so it's great for swimming, fishing, and just relaxing. Across from us is a kids bible camp so it's basically undeveloped shoreline. Spring and fall we watch for migrating birds.
