This a private room in a large house shared with a male in his mid-20s. The bedroom is on the main level and has a separate TV/office space off the main living area. The private bathroom is spacious with a tub/shower combo. The shared kitchen has nearly new cabinets, gas range, dishwasher, and large central island. There is a small backyard with a large storage shed which includes the free to use washer and dryer.

The neighborhood is very walkable; about a mile from Lake Merritt, one block from the famous Buddha of Oakland, and just around the corner from Xochi the Dog Cafe. The Buddha is a local landmark credited with reducing crime by 80%, while Xochi is known for great coffee, delicious empanadas, and a dog-friendly patio. Its a family-friendly area, perfect for dog walks or a jog to the lake.

I rented S's room initially for 4 months and ended up staying a year. I am a former RN, and moved to Oakland for grad school. The space provides a private and secure bedroom, and I had a spacious and light-filled office where I completed countless hours of schoolwork and studies. The two roommates are respectful, quiet, and easy to live with. Everyone works to maintain common areas. S is reliable and easily reachable. I am sad to say goodbye to this sweet and charming home!
