Great location! Right next to St Marks and about 10 minutes to IMC. There are a lot of great hiking spots all over the place! The owners take a while responding and you wont get all of your deposit back. Ive heard from a couple of people that also had issues getting the deposit back. Its a basement apartment so expect to hear everything happening upstairs (dog barking, people walking around, using dishes or dropping anything, etc). The AC/heat is controlled by the upstairs unit which is annoying if they leave town and the heat is on all week. Luckily the owners gave us a fan and a space heater for that sort of thing. None of the doors work correctly which is frustrating when its freezing cold and youre stuck outside trying to finagle the door into the right position. Also the dishwasher in the pictures doesnt actually work so that was lame. All in all it wasnt a terrible stay if the little issues dont bother you but I did expect it to be a little nicer considering the price.

We are sorry some aspects of your stay were unsatisfactory. In this situation, it appears the main issue is failure to set clear expectations on how to receive a complete deposit refund - although this is explained in our written agreement. For a full deposit refund we expect the unit returned in the condition it was received. Your reconciliation explained some problems you left behind: residue/debris left in fridge, microwave, stove, laundry area & storage area, dog hair & stains on bed/blankets/furniture and broken oven door glass. We covered most of the cost for these repairs/cleaning and charged you $300 from your deposit, which was returned to you 2 weeks after moving out, well within the 30 day window. Temperature control, dishwasher, and being a basement apt was explained before signing of the lease. We thought your were quite happy with your stay, as you extended your stay twice and gave positive feedback along the way. We apologize for any miscommunication. Best to you.
