Basement Suite

Lorraine and Ray were amazing hosts. The room is downstairs in the house, with a privacy curtain. The bathroom is very nice, and the room is comfortable and has plenty of closet space. It gets cold down there, but they have a space heater that does a great job. I had access to the garage to park my bicycle, which was great during the rainy months. The kitchen is beautiful and they are very gracious with fridge and cabinet space. The house is close to three grocery stores, is a 3 minute walk from a bus that will take you downtown in about 25 minutes, and is in walking distance of all sorts of great restaurants, bars, coffee shops, and parks. Finally, Lorraine and Ray are really cool people. They are accommodating, interesting, friendly, and respectful. They have great recommendations of places to try in Portland and helped me feel comfortable in my new home quickly. I highly recommend this property and miss it already!

Lorraine and Ray were great hosts during my clinical rotation, providing a clean environment that was welcoming and made me feel like I had a home away from home! They made an extra effort to provide a comfortable experience, from providing a section of the fridge for me to ensuring that the bathroom was stocked with a starter supply of some toiletries. I definitely enjoyed my experience there!

I rented this suite for 3 months when I was transitioning to living in Portland for work. The host family made every accommodation you could ask for and more. The privacy of the downstairs suite was always well respected! The upstairs living and kitchen was beautiful and incredibly comfortable! They're such nice people, and I'm thankful for the time I spent there!

We stayed at this wonderful home for 3 1/2 months while we searched for a property to purchase in Portland. We were incredibly comfortable and truly enjoyed the open concept living. The kitchen is decked out with fancy appliances like a soda stream. The primary suite/bath/closet was luxurious and the bed was so comfortable. The upper floor had two kids rooms right by the primary, so our two little kids were nearby. The office was also a bonus for working at home. We really enjoyed the backyard and deck as well, with gorgeous mature trees and tons of shade. Property hosts were accommodating and super responsive, always available if needed, and really cool people at that, as we got to know them over the few months. This was a really fabulous place to stay as newbies to the city. We recommend it!
