Reviews
The hosts, K and Z are exceptionally dear. The apartment is rustic, cozy, well furnished and clean. I loved the old fashioned furnishings and modern conveniences (including air conditioning as it was hot at times). The location is super, walking distance to everything in this lovely town. Good restaurants, a supermarket, drug store, waterfront park with concerts and farmers market. I could not recommend this stay more highly!
I stayed at the Upper Deck for 4 months while working at Central Maine Medical Center. The apartment and the town of Bath were perfect to come home to after a stressful day at the hospital. Bath made me feel like I was living in a Hallmark movie, with just the right cafe, pizza spot, ice cream parlor, brewery, etc. The apartment had everything needed to feel comfortable and more- a well-stocked kitchen, plenty of linens and towels, etc. K and her family went above and beyond as hosts; I felt supported and looked out for but also a total sense of privacy. K made the stay so easy and had great recommendations for how to make the most of my time in Maine. I would recommend staying at the Upper Deck to anyone, especially those looking for a comfortable and cozy space to unwind. Thanks for everything, K and family!
It's hard to put into words how warm, kind, and friendly the space and the hosts of The Upper Deck are. When we first arrived, the apartment was clean and had everything we needed (fresh linens, clean towels, and even a picnic basket to enjoy in the town). The bed was very comfortable and the apartment is in a great location, just off the historic main street in Bath. The host shared that it was "like walking through a Hallmark Movie" and I couldn't agree more. Our hosts were amazing, and the hosts are truly gifts to the hospitality industry. We felt right at home and our two favorite places in Maine were not even on our radar to visit until they recommended them. It is a quiet and friendly town with so much history and activities right at your fingertips. If you're on the fence about booking The Upper Deck, do it! You will not be disappointed.
I was incredibly lucky to find this charming rental in Bath. The large 1-bedroom apartment has everything I could need. Bath is a charming old city and the apartment is only a few blocks from the old village and market. The home itself sits on the Kennebec River and I often prepare my meals in the well-stocked kitchen looking at the River flowing by. The neighborhood is filled with beautiful old homes very well maintained. The bathroom is modern with a great deep tub that is perfect for a bath after a long shift! I park in the driveway and have always felt safe - even coming in at 3:00 AM. The owners, K and Z, go WAY above and beyond. Even doing my laundry! Kim keeps me in fresh flowers, fruit and even fresh eggs! They constantly ask what they can do for me! They are amazing hosts and I feel as if I am not alone and yet still have my privacy. The home is safe, clean, very well stocked and very homey feeling - a really wonderful place to come home to after a long day.

I look forward to hosting you at the Upper Deck! I enjoy history and sharing antidotes about our property and its most famous former owner, Captain John Patten. When I'm not working at our wellness center as the office manager, I love reading, gardening, vegetarian cooking, outdoor adventures, being active in my church, and spending time with my family. My favorite places to share in Maine are Popham Beach, Monhegan Island, and Baxter State Park.
