Large, sunny room Los Altos Hills, CA

Genuinely a great place to stay near Palo Alto area. Neighbourhood is very safe and quiet. Everything about the property has a pleasantly vintage style to it, while having all the amenities you'd want (large room, private bathroom, your own mini-fridge and walk-in closet, etc). Large pool in the back is also great to have. Once you get used to their way of living, you'll feel right at home. A & L are very kind and reasonable people that will do their best to make you feel welcome during your stay. They'll liven you up with conversation, but also give you lots of privacy. Overall amazing place, highly recommend for anyone wanting a relaxing place to stay!

Great location close to many office spaces in the Palo Alto area, for a good price. Neighborhood is the best I've been to yet, with fresh air on the hills & free from traffic noises. Beautiful living space, filled with ornamental furnitures and decorations, I could feel a lot of artistic thoughts went into them. A & L are one of the best & sweetest people I've met so far, will definitely take time to hang around every now and then even though I no longer live here.

The area was nice and safe. It was close to a lot of places and pretty bikeable. If you work at Stanford or Lucile Packard, it is a 15 minute drive in the morning to the Hoover Parking Lot. There is a pool in the backyard which is nice. I pretty much kept to my room. You only get a small section in the fridge so if you are a big meal planner, that is something to consider. You get access to the laundry room but you can't use certain setting on the dryer or washing machine. You get access to kitchen. I use my instant pot to cook my items. You get a parking space, so no street parking! Plenty of closet space.The property owners are nice for the most part. I had to leave earlier than expected and they were understanding. I will be honest, looking at the previous review was concerning. I did have one encounter a week before leaving. L accused me of having someone in my room. Before this happened, I was talking on the phone with my husband while cleaning my car. It was awkward.

The male owner of this property, L, is a bully. While his partner, A, does her best to mitigate his behavior, I ultimately left a week early after a situation with him left me feeling unsafe, bullied and intimidated. I spent 3 months avoiding him (price/location was right) but he is an 80 year old retiree who is up early/to bed late, he monitors your every move and micromanages the recycling, laundry (he thinks you should only use express cycle), outdoor seating/area, just to name a few. You will walk on eggshells. I stuck to my room. The day I left we had an incident where he was angry I used the white cycle(?). He made intimidating comments, I went outside and he followed me out to berate me about properly using the seating(?). he then said I took too many holidays(?). I called A and she said 'he's a grumpy old man, he's getting worse, I try to manage him but I'm out today'. So beware and be safe fellow travelers - I'd pass on this property if you value your wellbeing.

This spacious room is located in a serene home in beautiful Los Altos Hills. The hosts are very friendly and accommodating. Plenty of privacy and perfect for unwinding. The location is perfect for a commute to Stanford. Cannot say enough good things about this boarding opportunity and the incredible hosts!
