My partner arrived in the middle of the night & Sandy accommodated her & allowed her to check in early. She left Tamales to welcome us! The place was spotless. You can smell fabuloso. It is a newly renovated property. Hot shower, 2 tvs, 2 AC units, & 2 functioning fans! When you call or text Sandy, she gets back to you right away. I got locked out one night & Sandy sent someone to let me in with a spare key in less than an hour. There is a lemon tree to get fresh lemons! My partners bicycle got multiple flats & Sandy offered her tools to help us fix the bike. Sandy is a wonderful host & you can tell she takes pride in her property. She is always trying to make sure her guests are as comfortable as possible. Even though we moved out about a month ago, we have still kept in touch with Sandy & she gives us her local recommendations. A gem of a human. You will not regret booking this place.

If you're going to stay in Yuma, I do not recommend this property. First and foremost, the location is not great. It is in a very rundown neighborhood with sketchy individuals. There are a few restaurants nearby that are good, but I would avoid living in Mesa Heights altogether. Many of the properties nearby have trash all throughout their yard. In my short stay, I also came across many weird people walking around the neighborhood, including a man yelling at me and my boyfriend. People (whom I still don't know who they were) would constantly come knocking on the door. I even had someone pounding on the door at 6AM. At the time, i was alone at the property and did not feel comfortable answering the door. I assumed these were people from the church nearby, but I still have no idea. I also had two instances where people tried to enter the apartment. Next, the landlord, Sandy, is very nice and friendly when approached, but she is not what I would consider a great landlord. She informed me that there would be landscaping done outside and she would let me know when the landscapers would be coming to the property, and she did let me know the first couple times... But after that she never told me and I would wake up to random strangers right outside the home. As a women who was alone most of the day, you can see how that would make me feel uneasy. Circling back to people trying to enter the home, both instances were people she knew (whom I assumed they didn't know people where occupying the residence), since she never told me to expect these people, I was very scared and afraid. And these people didn't just try to open the door once, it was multiple times at both doors. She did apologize and offer me a gift but it still made me feel uncomfortable. The second time someone attempted to get into the residence, she said she assumed it was the people who where moving into the duplex next door, but she never confirmed that with me... leaving me to feel paranoid. Once when we came home from visiting family, we came home to the front door being wide open. We were gone for about a week and we have no idea why the door was opened and for how long it was. Thankfully, nothing was stolen or missing. Lastly, we moved to Yuma because of my boyfriends job, and a contract got pulled at work, causing him to have to move jobsites. Therefore we had to leave Yuma. Sandy was very understanding and let us cancel our lease early. But a month after cancelling our lease, I asked her if we would be receiving any of our security deposit back, and she said she would work things out and let us know. Now, a month later, she still has not reached out and said anything about the security deposit. In conclusion, if you are staying in Yuma, I highly recommend renting another property than this one.

Hello Samantha, thank you for your review and feedback. As a small family owned and operated operation every review is extremely important to us. In making La Casita and Casita Bonita into a short term to mid term rental property it was our dream and goal to make the home comfortable, safe and functional to all of our tenants. This goal came to be when my in laws decided to retire and move in with family due to aging and care. In this process, we realized their home was still in their hearts and it was apparent they were not quite ready to let it go. As a family we decided to purchase the home from them, renovate it and turn into a short term property to allow them the opporunity to visit "their home" whenever they felt the need. It has been a beautiful journey to watch them experience the renovation and progress made to the home, and slowly seeing their old "home" become a place to share with others. The people that randomly stopped by was them and my newphews, the were excited to see the newly installed fence, they were not aware tenants were in place. I apoligized to you as I understand how two children under the age of 5 randomly rang your doorbell early in the morning and two older adults begin to clean the mango tree and lemon tree. These trees have been my in laws pride and joy. I was not aware they were stopping by but I spoke with them. I inform all of our tenants of two individuals that stop by the property, the first is our cleaning lady, she stops by roughly every two weeks to water the plants and clean the premise. She tries her best to not distrub, to be quick and be invisible. She is quite shy and she has tended this home for many years and takes great care of it. The second person is our handyman/landscaper. When he stops by I ensure our tenants are aware days in advance, but if an emergency happens they are great at going to take care of the issue and same I try to inform all tenants of this, but I may have missed a visit, and I apologize for that. We also installed a security camera that views the parking area and street, this is disclosed. We have never captured any activity that is worisome. As mentioned, our in-laws lived in this home for over 20 years and never had any type of incident that required law enforcement. Not that this wont ever happen but god willing our tenants will also experience the same safety. This is extremely important to us as we do have young professionals stay and often. The property is in an older reviving community and we cant always control the neigbors as we wish we could but three of the four immediate neighbros are established neighbors and are very happy with the upgrades and progress made to the home, many have shared their new enthusiam about improving their own homes. One in particular is quite lovely with the music and we have chatted with them about being mindful, I believe they have as our current tenants shared no complaints. Regarding the lease, I apologize for not reaching back to you that is completly inappropriate on my behalf. As mentioned we canceled two stays to accomodate your requested mid-term stay, we did not realize at the time a fee would be applied. These fees equated to the security deposit. I do apologize for not reaching out, I should have. We try to be fair with all of our tenants and believe we were fair in allowing the lease to be broken even after losing two contracts to accomodate yours. We will continue to do our best to ensure our tenats are safe, comfortable and most important feel they are valued. Thank you once more for your feedback.
