I am a traveling nurse. I have traveled since 2016 and have experienced all of the different types of accommodations. But this is hands down the best. The room was perfect. Clean and cozy. Not loud. Worked great for both day shift and my night shifts. The owners are so amazing. Accommodating to all ends. The home is beautiful and charming through out. The kitchen is a true dream to cook in. The property grounds were well kept. I loved going on walks in the area and around the property. Cute stream that runs through with pond for fishing. Pets on site were very well kept and well minded. Didnt know they were there. Stayed mostly in the owners suite. Very safe area. Such a charming town. Loved the local diner! Absolutely NO COMPLAINTS. You would be crazy not to stay here; long term or short term.

If you are a traveler and needing some place to stay this is IT!!! This is a billion star ratingVery cozy, welcoming, and a home away from home. Mrs.G, Mr. C and Mr.J welcomed me with open arms and God placed me in their home for a reason. I used to travel with my family but step out by myself and with that being said they made me family away from my family. This is the place to stay. You will not regret it!

The property was clean and well kept, and the place was very quiet. The owners were attentive and genuinely seemed to care that their renters were taken care of and happy. Highly recommend this to traveling medical professionals.

The Property is Amazing !!! Beautiful in every way.Stayed at the Sawyer -Cutter house with my wife Lori .My wife is a sweetie pie...Loves her job..and really needs to be close to work Which is Dartmouth Hospital. We are working on selling our Property up the road. And i convinced my wife to try staying at this property as a housing option in the event we sell our house. My wife loves this place we stayed about 6 weeks .And we will certainly return if there is room available. The owners are incredible human beings. Just love them . For us we just fell in love with the entire property and owners 100% positive experience.

What a beautiful hotel. The Sawyer-Cutter House is a historic hotel located in Orford, New Hampshire. It was built in 1800 by Captain James Sawyer, a prominent businessman and landowner in the area. The house is a fine example of Federal-style architecture, with many original features still intact, including its original woodwork, floorboards, and built-in cupboards. The Suite where I stayed is decorated in colonial style and has a private bath and a nice shared kitchen. Shared with a lovely family that has opened their home and hearths for healthcare providers who work in the area. They are always ready to help and support any request or desire. Thank you for a lovely stay and your hospitality.

Thank you, such kind and wonderful words. We have been working diligently to make everyone feel that The Sawyer -Cutter House is their home away from home. Having you here has been a true joy and makes our job as host very gratifying. We are happy to hear that you enjoyed the bear claw tub as it is the only suite here that has one.

Great stay! My room was spacious with a private bath! G and C was very accommodating! They were okay with me having a small refrigerator in my room. Any issues I had, they resolved immediately! Sawyer Cutter house is an older home so they passed out heaters when the temperatures started dropping. They are new to the area also and are renovating different areas of the house while keeping the old charm. Quiet and peaceful area. Its about 30 minutes from Dartmouth Hitchcock hospital.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review. It was a pleasure to meet you and it was wonderful having you as a guest. We hope that if you are ever back in the area for work that you would consider staying with us again, or if just passing through.

I rented a room in this house but I found a home way from home there. The owners are amazing and I believe I made a friend for life. G is such a special soul. I was blessed to meet them and stay in a home where I was so well adopted as friend.

Thank for your kind words and for choosing The Sawyer-Cutter House as your home away from home. This venture has opened up wonderful opportunities to meet new friends from all over the United States. I truly appreciated our long conversations and we loved that you would always keep the Vases full with different varieties of fresh cut wild flowers. Although you started as a guest, you will always be considered a long term friend and always welcome to return.

kitchen is nowhere near what is pictured kitchen is completely empty . Fridges are outside on the back porch also dog sit right in the front of the fridge . Serval rules that are not listed . upon leaving a million excuses is giving when time to return the deposit .Your every move is watched . Landlord pretends to be so nice and caring until time for you to departure . Unknown taxes are being charged that are not listed. 0/10 I wouldnt recommend. Kitchen was promised to be finished within a week of moving in still nothing just plain walls. So much I could say about this place also youre not allowed any visitors like a prisoner . If I could give 0 starts I would . You are better off finding better for the price youll pay her with PRIVACY

Thank you for your review, we are very sorry that you left The Sawyer Cutter House on such a bad note. We do believe that you failed to mention that you did tour the property before you moved in. The kitchen was under renovation at the time of your tour, however, you failed to mention that while you were here, the kitchen cabinets were installed, and that a small kitchenett was set up in the dining room and a large outdoor BBQ pit with burner was provided for cooking as well as a microwave. Our policy is that there are no over night guest allowed (in your case, boyfriend for a week) and this is due to the protection of our other guest, we cant have strangers roaming throughout the house. Exceptions can be made for immediate family members for short periods of time with prior notice. You chose to vacate the property because we would not allow your boyfriend to stay a full week. You also left abruptly without a 30 day notice and broke your 6 month contract enacting the NH lodging taxes.

This is an amazing property. This place has everything a traveling nurse/ professional could want. The owners welcomed me with open arms and accommodated every need I could want. This hotel is clean, inviting, charming and full of history. You have access to the manicured grounds that include a delightful running creek and a pond where you can sit on the dock as you enjoy a glass of wine and enjoy the sunset. My room was spacious, neat and clean. I enjoyed every minute feeling like I was living in the 1700s with the wide floorboards, rafters that were cut by hand and wooden pins holding them together. Youre not just renting a room, you are taken back in time with this wonderful experience of a lifetime staying here. The owners are a joy and you will feel like you have this gigantic estate to yourself. I highly recommend a traveling nurse to choose this experience, you definetly will not regret it.

My husband, son, and I purchased The Sawyer Cutter House, also known as The White Goose Inn May 2023. We have made changes to the house to restore and uphold the house's historic background. We have gone back to the original name "The Sawyer-Cutter House" as it was established in 1770 by Edward Thomas Sawyer and later preserved by Cyrus Cutter in 1833. We have begun restoring the land that the house sits on by mowing, removing weeds, clearing the creek that runs through the property, and clearing trees and other plant species that are overgrown on the property. Inside the house we have added 17th and 18th cen...
