Spacious and modern loft close to NYC

The day I moved in, the lights were not working and the heater barely worked. I told Ivan, the property manager, about it and he was able to get it fixed. The heater barely worked, if not at all, so I had to buy an external heater. Apparently this place is kinda old and they've had multiple repairs in the house which explains all the issues. Also, after awhile of staying there, I noticed cockroach like bugs starting crop up in the house frequently which became an issue. The worst part of it all was Ivan. After I left the place on July31st, he refused to give me my security deposit within the 30 days saying that because the house is being sold the attorneys are handling all the money in and out and that my deposit is now in Escrow awaiting a final payment. What does my security deposit have to do with selling a house? After calling him and going back and forth on the phone with him, he finally gave me back my deposit. If Ivan is still the property man. here, I would avoid this place!
