Reviews
The location was amazing. The neighbors are really great people, and the landlord was pleasant to talk with . The little pond in the back was also super fun. The home was esthetically appealing however it smells like cigarettes and after a pretty heavy rain fall in the night my husband woke to water dripping on his face. I peeled back the paint on the ceiling and there was black mold. The basement also flooded right before we came and they had a dehumidifier running and then it flooded again from the water heater or ac unit. We are extremely sensitive to smells and mold and I really tried to manage the cigarette smell with charcoal packs and lavender scent balls. Our clothes reeked of cigarettes when we moved out. The mold was an absolute no for me. We have had mold toxicity before and it was absolutely terrible. Before we moved into the home I asked the landlord to do a mold inspection with a mold person not just a realtor and she stated she did and there was no mold. Unfortunately the mold we found on the ceiling was not new. The wood on the outside of the home near the bedroom was rotting and had been quite some time which is how the water got into the ceiling. Finding this caused me and my family (husband and 3 kids) to move immediately but with no where to go, so we stayed in a hotel for a week then hopped around air bnbs for 3 weeks until we finally found another rental. It was not easy on my family and I didnt feel as though the landlord A: took the mold seriously and B: truly had a professional mold inspector look at the home or test anything before we moved in. Its taken me awhile to want to write this review but I think people need to know what happened and if they are sensitive to mold or cigarettes I would highly recommend seeing the home first and hiring a true mold inspector.
