Newly renovated apartment in Hollywood fl

I'm not one to leave reviews but I need to warn others about this unit and landlord. I signed month to month lease on 9/2/24 and was staying at my previous unit still that week. 9/7 & 9/8 I spent all day cleaning the place bc it was filthy. Used 3 whole bottles of Clorox wipes, lots of dirt and grime and flies and gnats. On evening of 9/8 I returned to unit to begin moving in and found maggots crawling all over the couch, under the couch, and on the tile and carpet surrounding the front door and couch. Contacted the landlord early 9/9 to break the lease and was told it was month to month so that is fine and I could have my security despot back but not Sept rent. I have yet to get security deposit back and he is harassing me claiming I stayed there and somehow caused the maggots. I ended up homeless for over a week in a hotel and out a lot of money. I just warn anyone else not to stay here and avoid this landlord at all costs. The place is filthy and has bugs and the landlord is shady.
