Here are some of our top picks for a great experience in the Cornhusker State:

1. Benson Neighborhood

Benson is a neighborhood in Midtown Omaha known for its hip, bustling food and drink scene. Like, cool-speakeasy-hidden-under-a-ramen-restaurant sort of hip. That's right, Kaitei slings cocktails underneath the local-favorite Ika Ramen . If that's not your scene, Beercade (an adult arcade bar) has everyone's favorite nostalgic arcade games. Catch a local band at The Waiting Room . There's no shortage of things to do in Benson! Plus, it's a five-minute walk from these units .

2. Omaha Dog Bar

Whether you're traveling with your furry friend or you're a solo traveler who loves dogs, Omaha Dog Bar is a must-see in the historic Little Bohemia neighborhood. This canine-centric watering hole has it all: a dog park, bar, and eatery. With a consistent rotation of events like live music, trivia, movie nights, bingo, and more, there's something for everyone to enjoy.

3. Lauritzen Gardens

Calling all plant lovers: Lauritzen Gardens is a 100-acre "living museum" of plant and flower displays. The garden is immaculately maintained by the staff, whose mission centers around education and conservation. The garden is massive, so be sure to budget at least one to two hours so you can enjoy all the small details. You can purchase a ticket ahead of time on their website. Only service animals are allowed, so leave your non-working furry friends at home.

4. Old Market

Old Market , Omaha's self-proclaimed "Art & Entertainment District," has it all: art galleries, restaurants, live music, bookstores, bike shares, dance lessons, and horse-drawn carriages (to name just a few!). The neighborhood is charmed by cobblestone streets and historic brick buildings. With no shortage of local businesses to explore, Old Market will keep you enjoying the city for weeks.

5. Omaha's Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium

Adventure awaits at the Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium , with 160 acres of plants, animals, and habitats to explore. Consistently ranked one of the world's best zoos, the Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium is a must-see. Kids and adults alike have the chance to marvel at the many species the zoo offers, from sea lions to pandas to orangutans and more. While you're there, do not miss walking through the underwater tunnel at the aquarium. For adults, there are also after-hours, adults-only events called Late Night at the Zoo. 6. Bob Kerrey Pedestrian Bridge

If your favorite way to explore a city is by foot or bicycle, be sure to check out the Bob Kerrey Pedestrian Bridge . This 3,000-foot bridge, lovingly referred to by the locals as "Bob," takes you on a journey across the Missouri River with sweeping views of the city skyline. Plus, the bridge is connected to over 150 miles of nature trails. If you visit Omaha during the summer, you might even catch live music in the Plaza.
