How much does the Online Payments service cost?
Service fees are paid by the tenant.
- Credit/ATM Cards: 4.95% (Changing to 3.95% soon)
- ACH: 1% + $5 (Changing soon to just a $5 service fee)
What are the steps for tenants to pay rent?
- You will receive a rent payment email from KeyCheck, initiated by your landlord.
- The email will direct you to sign up or log into KeyCheck.
- Go to your dashboard and click on “payments”.
- Review the fees set by your landlord. If you have any questions, contact your landlord directly.
- Add your payment method(s).
- Select the fee you wish to pay from the list of scheduled fees.
- Confirm the payment method for that fee.
- Complete the payment.
Can tenants delete the payment method(s)?
Yes. You can delete a payment method directly from your dashboard. Simply access the scheduled payment details, select the payment method, and click the trash can icon to remove it.
Can tenants update the payment method to use?
Yes, you can easily update your payment method. For example, if a credit card has expired, go to the payments section in your dashboard, view the fee details, and click the option to “add a new card or bank account” at the bottom.
Is verification required on the tenant’s end to process payments?
It depends on the payment method used. For credit card payments, simply adding the card information is all that is needed. For ACH transfers, a one-time verification with microdeposits is required to confirm the account holder’s identity and safeguard against identity theft and fraud. Once the bank account is added, the system will send two small deposits to your bank account within 1 to 3 business days. After receiving them, you’ll need to confirm the exact amounts on KeyCheck. Once verified, you can proceed with payments.
