A little chic, a little homey, and totally warm and welcoming, my creekside cottage has been a haven. A certified wildlife habitat, a designated 'Forest in the City', my household and I live gently, encouraging native plants, recycling as we can.
Almost thirty years after moving in, Onalea Cottage has become a home for my collections, the largest of which is a library that has grown into every room on the upper (street) leve...
Biggest bedroom in the house, newly refurnished and redecorated this year, with a relaxed, vaguely mid-century ambiance: new bed, dresser, sofa, rug, linens, art, blackout curtains, lighting. It overlooks the lower garden where the yellow asters are just starting to bloom.
The newly renovated bathroom is shared with one person (currently female).
This is a neighborhood that began to be established in the middle of the previous century. We are centrally located north of the downtown business district, and just on the south side of the ever popular Buckhead business and entertainment district. We are within 8 miles of every major hospital in the city, and especially convenient to Emory University and the CDC.
Within 3 mile radius, are Kroger, Publix, Trader Joe's, Aldi...
Perfect for a long term stay
I visited Atlanta as a rotating medical professional and the host was more than welcoming during the whole stay. She provided all the kitchen utensils and spices for someone who can't buy their own everytime they move. Whenever unexpected thing happens, she was flexible with the house rules if that makes sense. For example, I had to leave early because of my schedule and left my luggages to be handed to the carrier service and she helped me to make sure they are transferred safely. This place is right next to the bus stop where number 15 stops and it links you to the metro station where you can move everywhere inside the city. If you're visiting Scottish Rite hospital or CAP, it's both 6-7 min distance by car. Definitely stayed here like I am home and I would recommend the place to everyone. There were two other tenants living long term while I was here and I find this place fit for any purpose of stay.
