Stressful stay

I would leave a 0 star review but I can't. When moving in back yard was not as described. Prior tenant in back studio constantly had other dogs in the yard, it was dirt (grass was completely dead), and there was so much dog poop and holes. The landlord thankfully mediated that situation. House had tons of quirks. Landlord was not initially upfront about selling her property while we were renting it from her, at first saying she had a property management company coming in. Her realtor let my dogs escape the back yard when opening the back gate, and never gave us 24 hour notice when wanting to show. The realtor asked us on multiple occasions to leave the property (which is illegal), and would give us flack when we told her we had guests or that it wasn't enough notice . The landlord gaslit us about the whole selling situation. Overall terrible experience with complete disrespect to our privacy. Also way overcharging for a property that is piecemealed together and needs alot of work.

Thank you for your feedback during your stay, this level of review was clearly not portrayed to me at the time of move out or during the entire communication we had during your stay. -the back yard is a xeric grass which turns brown during the winter when it goes dormant and appears dead and returns to green grass during the summer months. The holes caused by allowing pets have been remediated. -when the multiple dogs and excessive pet excrement was brought to my attention I immediate responded and took action. The studio vacated on 4/30/25. -due to unforeseen circumstances I made the decision to rather than go with a property management company to sell the home this was immediately discussed with the tenants. This particular tenancy was 3/22/25-6/30/25. I gave the tenants notice on 5/16 the home would be listed and they gave notice of intent to move out on 5/17/25 and vacated on 6/7/25. -per the signed lease agreement, I allowed for the month of June to be pro-rated rather than require the remainder of the contract to be paid out and I did withhold a portion of the security deposit for the breach in contract. Again signed in the lease. -I was adamant with the real estate tenant in regard to 24 hours noticed and communicated this with the tenants as well, there was an appointment for photos one day and one virtually showing during their tenancy which tenants were provided several days notice. There was a short notice ask for a showing to which I stood behind the tenants and declined as it was less than 24 hours notice. -The home does have quirks, after all it is 100 years old located in the historic district of Downtown Grand Junction. While some may find the charm and quirks of an older well kept home, others may not. -I feel this degree of review is unfair given the many conversations had with this tenant and none suggesting this level of dissatisfaction during the stay. I feel being reviewed for conversations had with a 3rd party not on the lease agreement is also unfair, and feel this severe of a review was left partially due to the partial return of the security deposit due to the tenants breach of contract.

Great place to stay.

The home is cozy and convenient - there are parks, and grocery stores within minutes. Downtown is just a 15 minute walk away, less than 5 minutes by car. It's a quiet area, and the neighbors are all very friendly. The owner is very, very responsive and friendly. We had a great stay and I would highly recommend this place!

Home Away From Home

If youre looking for a comfy home this is it! I felt so welcomed in this home, it was big enough for my family of 6 and great access to all of downtown Grand Junction. Walking distance to parks and a short commute to restaurants. The welcome gift was a great surprise to walk in to after traveling all day. Easy, hassle free transaction and great communication with the manager. Would definitely stay again in the future and recommended to my family and friends.
