Quiet and Close to everything

I stayed 3 days a week during my 36 hour assignment in San Mateo at Emmie's place which was conveniently close to everything, quiet and had everything I needed. There is ample closet, dresser, refrigerator and cabinet space for your belongings. Due to long hours and need for personal self care after work, I did not see Emmie all that often but shared a few nice conversations and she showed me how to make a great Nespresso Latte. She also helped assure that my kitty was in in for the evening and fed her a few times for me. Thank you for having Stevie and I.

I can attest to the other reviews about Emmie being a great host/roommate. I just finished my third travel contract at San Mateo Medical Center (great hospital for nurses, 5-10 min walk from Emmies place). For my first contract I worked evening shift and felt safe when walking home at 11:30pm. Trader Joes and other stores are a quick walk away. I travel with 2 dogs and they loved living with Emmie. She gave them lots of pets and they were able to sunbathe on the patio. I also brought my car and was able to park it behind the house. There is plenty of street parking for bigger vehicles as well. I love birdwatching and was able to see a family of barn owls from my bedroom window with my binoculars. Everything is within a 30-45 minute drive away SF, San Jose, Half Moon Bay, etc. I was initially worried about sharing a bathroom, but Emmie spends most of her time getting ready in her room and takes quick showers. Washer/dryer on site. Spacious closet. Highly recommend!

Just book it, its perfect!

For those who are reading this review, stop overthinking and just book this amazing room with the most amazing housemate (landlord). I am a traveling nurse who was looking for a safe, comfortable, clean and waking distance accommodation for my contract with San Mateo Medical Center (4 minutes walk from the house). Ps. Great hospital for travelers. Lets begin with the room- its even better in person than it is in the pictures. It is spacious, clean, great lighting, beautiful window view, extremely comfortable and cozy bed, and a big closet. There is also a TV in the room for TV lovers and a work desk. Its has everything a room needs for you to feel comfortable. The bathroom is spacious and super clean, the landlord provides plenty of space for you to store your necessities and respects your privacy. There is a huge beautiful patio upstairs if you want to catch some sun and get some fresh air. The kitchen is always clean and neat and the landlord provides everything you need (and more) to prepare your meals if cooking is your thing, also plenty of fridge and cabinet spaces. The living room is spacious and always clean, big comfortable couch and a TV, though I spent most of the time in my room given that there is also a TV in the bedroom. I didnt bring my car but if I did, I wouldnt of needed it. Everything is close by: Super markets (Trader Joes which is my favorite) etc, small corner stores, the mall, restaurants, chiropractors, bowling and much more, all within 5 to 10 minutes walk. If you do bring a car, there is usually plenty of street parking in front of the house. The neighborhood is extremely beautiful, safe and very quiet. My favorite was the abundance of orange and lemon trees blooming and not to mention the most beautiful roses and flowers. Saved the best for last, the housemate (landlord): She is the most wonderful/kind and respectful landlord you could possibly come across. She made my whole experience unforgettable and I wouldnt think twice before renting this room again. She is respectful of your space and privacy, accommodating and caring. You just cant help but love her! Best of luck!!!

Location : Very close to major stores, mall, and gyms, along with Fedex and UPS. Extremely convenient if you don't own a car as the bus stop and Caltrain are very close by. The neighborhood is really nice and safe. House : Extremely clean at all times, ample storage, all amenities available. There is a closet as well with lots of storage space. Its a very cozy, warm, and welcoming house. There is monthly cleaning as well. The house looks exactly like in the photos. Its a very quiet and calm place. E herself : My six month stay has been simply wonderful, largely in part due to E. She is extremely kind and thoughtful, and neat to a fault. She has gone above and beyond as a host - and has been the highlight of my trip. I would recommend this place wholeheartedly to anybody who is respectful and considerate.

A wonderful home away from home!

This is one of my favorite places to stay. M.E. is brilliantly welcoming. The room is bright and the bed is very comfortable. If you are going to be working at San Mateo Medical Center it is a quick 5 min walk to the hospital. I felt welcomed in all the common areas of the home and M.E. took me to several local areas (farmer's markets, shopping, and eateries) to help me acclimate to the area. There is plenty of parking on the street out front of the house. There is a washer/dryer on-site, room in the fridge, and your own cabinet in the kitchen which makes life easier. Even after leaving we keep in touch. I highly recommend it!!

Place of Peace

I absolutely loved my stay at this property. House was very clean, comfortable bed, E was an amazing host. Always making sure I had everything I needed and was very helpful with recommendations with going out. Parking is on the street but I never had in issue finding a spot in front of the house. The commute to Sutter was super easy. The bed was comfortable and I had plenty of closet space for all of my things. E was very quiet and respect. Unless I ran into her in the kitchen I often felt as if I was living alone. The bathroom is shared be we never had an issue because I was up and gone before she was awake. The neighbor is extremely safe and lots of good neighbors watching out for each other. I would recommend her place to any travel nurse who doesnt want an overbearing nosey host. I felt a peace and I felt safe. And if Im ever in the area I will be sure to check her place first.
