Avoid

Landlord berated us via text and kept half of the deposit without reason (or itemization). Unit smells strongly of urine and is dirty and dilapidated. Many broken things include dishwasher, doorknobs, fridge light, keypad lock, ceiling fans, etc. Very hot (A/C insufficient). Tap water slows to a dribble intermittently and has a foul taste. Ceiling too low for the average person. Exterior of house in disrepair.

Caution

Stayed in basement level apartment which had a pet smell which she was aware of (I have emailed proof) mold issue, ants and constant wet floor, did not give back security deposit with no itemized receipts or proof of deductions due to existing pet smell". I called code enforcement because the basement level apartment was technically uninhabitable. They agreed. The mold got worse in the spring time, had to throw away clothes due to it. There's an ant problem which I complained about as well and she brought chemicals for me to spray but didn't take care of it plus I have pets so I don't want them exposed it. When I moved out I took pictures of how I left it which was way better than I moved in, not even 4 hours later she sent a berating text about how there was an awful dog smell" and kept my deposit. Awful landlord with issues. Mind you she showed the place several times before I moved out and said nothing! I will be taking her to small claims court. Healthcare workers beware.

A MUST Rent!

I recently rented the 2nd Floor apartment from Lisa and it was everything anyone could ask for! The apartment was clean, well put together and decorated beautifully. Lisa was extremely approachable, tentative and friendly. Any and all questions were answered by her in a promptly manner with the addition of a rental binder provided by Lisa. I was SO happy that the property allowed pets as I have a large breed dog and it also has a fenced in yard which I couldn't find anywhere! This really put my mind at ease while being a traveler. I honestly was sad to leave but hope to rent from Lisa in the future! This is a MUST rent property for anyone looking to rent close to the Portland area but also looking for a safe and quiet neighborhood.

We stayed in the second floor apartment from February through May 8, 2022. L is a very accommodating and easy to rent from! She was an answer to many prayers while looking for housing in Maine! I highly recommend the property especially for those who travel with pets! She has a fenced yard and its only a 15 minute walk to the beach!! Thank you L!
