Susan's cottage is a gem!

What started as a short-term rental turned into four years (2022–2026) — that says it all. The photos don’t do it justice; it feels much more spacious than it looks, and has been renovated with new furniture and decor since they were taken, including a great new couch. Fully stocked kitchen, full-size everything. Susan is an avid gardener and the property is beautiful — huge front, side, and backyard with fruit trees, vegetables, and flowers, plus lounge areas perfect for morning coffee or an evening glass of wine. The two senior dogs, Peter and Bentley, are sweethearts — unobtrusive but happy to fetch a ball or soak up some love. Very private yet close to everything: walking distance to the creek trail and downtown restaurants, easy Highway 12/101 access, and centrally located between nearby hospitals — ideal for traveling healthcare workers. Truly a gem.

Truly a Home Away From Home

This being my first travel assignment I was very skeptical about basically everything. My home is in Florida so I traveled across the country to start my travel assignment. I could never say enough good things about S and her daughter E . From the very first encounter on FF to meeting them the first day was incredible. S is very accommodating. The cottage is quaint, with everything youll need. The bed is extremely comfortable after a long night at work. In a very quiet and serene setting. S has two pups, Peter and Bentley. Wow! These dogs are incredibly friendly and will come over just to say hi and will not turn down a treat! Lol. I always felt safe and asked many questions about things to do in the area, restaurants, parks, etc. S was very forthcoming about the best things to do. She is an incredible person and knows the world of nursing. If you are unsure about renting this property dont be. Its a great place with incredible people!! Thank you, S.

Loved living here!

I really loved staying the past couple of months. S is the most thoughtful and gracious host. She always asked if I needed anything and offered produce from her garden. The puppies are soo friendly, I loved when they came to visit me. The cottage was especially clean on arrival and was already stocked with paper products. I enjoyed the outdoor space which included comfortable lawn chairs in the beautiful garden. It felt like my home away from home!

Comfortable place with amazing host

Very cute apartment with an amazing host! S was so welcoming and took care of any issues immediately. She has two dogs that are so sweet and friendly and will come and visit when you get home. I stayed here with my boyfriend for my three month assignment and we felt safe on the property. East street parking right in front of the house. Beautiful garden and landscaping. The property is very close to Sutter hospital. I worked dayshift so I am not sure how quiet the property is for a Night Shift traveler but we slept great each night. There was a a standing fan for air circulation and a space heater for chilly nights. Lots of wind comes through for a nice breeze. Will defiantly miss our amazing host S and her pups Bentley and Peter.

This place is soo cozy, private and a very pleasant to stay. I enjoyed , comfortable of staying this place. If I have a chance to come back at Santa Rosa, I really want to stay in this place again. My landlady Susan and her daughter Emily are soo nice. They make sure that you have what you need. I want to thank them for their kindness and hospitality. I miss both of you ! Cozy and just right.

First of all, let me say that Susan was a wonderful host and totally delightful! We will indeed miss her and her two dogs. She was attentive to our needs without being overbearing. Her property is super cute and my husband and I were quite comfortable here. During the day, there is plenty of natural light and this was just right for two people. She has provided everything you need for your home away from home. She let us have veggies from her garden and she makes a mean marinara!
