Garden Suite is Perfect!

We highly recommend staying in the Garden Suite and renting from Barbara and Steve! The apartment is in a quiet, safe, and beautiful neighborhoodjust a short drive to downtown and SE Portland. Barbara and Steve are wonderful hosts: kind, easy to communicate with, and very respectful of your space and privacy. They made us feel so welcome and were incredibly sweet to our dogs. The unit itself is cozy, comfortable, and has everything you need. The kitchen is spacious and well equippedperfect for anyone who enjoys cooking. The outdoor garden is absolutely gorgeous and provides such a peaceful, relaxing atmosphere. We truly loved our stay and couldnt have asked for a better experience!

Couldn't recommend the Garden Suite more! It is located in a peaceful neighborhood but still only a short drive to downtown Portland. The unit itself was cozy, well cared for, included everything you would need and the pictures provided of the property do not do the garden justice! The owners, Barbara and Steve, created a safe space, respected our privacy, and loved on our puppy, Murphy! If we ever make it back to the Portland area, we hope the Garden Suite is available!

Wonderful Stay

I stayed for over four months at this property and don't have a single complaint. It's a beautiful unit with everything you could ever need. The backyard is like paradise, with birds and hummingbirds everywhere, and the neighborhood is quiet and gorgeous. The owners are so kind, incredibly responsive, and took care of all of my needs. I would love to come back and stay again!

Working/sabbatical

The property is located in a beautiful residential neighborhood two blocks from the local high school with great accessibility to freeways and highways. There are two shopping centers within walking distance of approximately a half mile for each offering a number of dining options, grocery stores, entertainment, self-care, and farmers market on Sundays at the high school. The owners are very pleasant, and when asked they're able to offer great knowledge for the surrounding area, and most of Oregon and its history as well. The location of the one-bedroom apartment is close access to urban/hiking trails nearby, and while the unit is quiet with limited road/city noise it is a perfect combination of clean, safe, quiet, offering solitude and peace. The apartment is very spacious and accommodating for guest, and a beautiful backyard great for meditation. Thank you, B, we look forward to visiting again and see more of Oregon.

My dog and I loved our time at the garden suite. The location is great and its quiet, relaxing, and safe. The house has all you need to cook and enjoy the amazing outdoors. The hosts were so sweet and accommodating. Would love stay here again!

A Rare Stunning Sojourn

Our stay here was incredible. Every week we stayed, made it that much harder to leave. The large open floor plan of the apartment has stunning views to the serene and gorgeous garden. Secluded and private in the stunning hills of Portland with views of Mount Hood. Magnificent Fir trees are everywhere on the property and permeate throughout the neighborhood. The apartment was spacious, aesthetically ideal with a phenomenal kitchen and gas fireplace making the place that much cozier. B and S are thoughtful, gracious, humble and attentive hosts, who somehow knew exactly what we needed before we did. The deck is perfect to sit with coffee, dinner or drinks as you watch and delight in the abundance of hummingbirds and soothing sounds of swaying bamboo. There are so many wooded trails throughout the neighborhood, which I thoroughly enjoyed. Starbucks, Fred Meyers and even a fantastic hair salon are all within walking distance. Our oasis in Portland, stole our hearts.

Lovely little oasis

Spacious garden suite is a lovely little oasis in a well kept residential area close to everything you need or want. Fred Meyer and Starbucks are a walkable distance. Downtown sights, a short drive away. Sunday farmers market down the street is a treat. Barbara is a gracious host. Respecting my privacy while at the same time making me feel welcome. The unit is clean, well stocked, and spacious. It has an quaint, eclectic vibe. Everything is in good working order. Internet works well. The kitchen is downright gourmet with everything you could possibly need. Ive enjoyed morning coffee in the sunroom watching the birds and squirrels in the private, professionally landscaped yard. Barbaras green thumb makes the summer and spring months pop with color and beauty. Ive grown quite fond of this little space and will miss it and my kind hosts.

A lovely and peaceful setting

We had the pleasure of staying here with our 2 cats over the course of 6 weeks. Any gardener will appreciate the walkway down to the quarters, and the serene view from within. The bed is comfortably firm, a vital criterion. The large, open floor plan gives an overall sense of spaciousness everywhere you look. With the garden screened in by vegetation, the sense of privacy and calm is pervasive. Between the quiet and the fireplace, our cats were in heaven. The owners are delightfully pleasant folks, easy-going but professional and responsive to any requests or suggestions. Highly recommended.

Hillsdale Gem

The three of us stayed here for a little more than 2 months and were very comfortable. The unit is quaint and bright with the decor, zen garden and open access to the amazing porch complete with a hot tub. The unit owners live upstairs but are very quiet/available as needed. They were very accommodating to needs and respond quickly to questions. The kitchen is fully equiped for cooking, the bed / linens and the living area/space cozy. We were thankful to have a close grassy patch to walk the dog across the street and the high school park 2 blocks away to give her a good run. 5 stars!
