Great atmosphere

I had a great stay for my 3 month stent here in DC! My roommates were very welcoming from the first day and clean. I was able to feel accepted and at my home away from home. The house is set up nicely and I loved the front patio. Would recommend this place to anyone.

Lovey Home!!

I had the pleasure of staying at this home for my junior year of undergrad at Howard University! It was a great stay and the home is located in a quiet and safe neighborhood with access to the metro, city bikes, and bus. Tanya and Sam were lovely hosts and responded to any issues very promptly! Also, the home was very neat and organized, which I can appreciate.

Wonderful Stay

I have lived at the 421 house for over 1.5 years, and it has been an excellent stay. I am only leaving because I accepted a job in a different city. Tanya and Sam are kind, responsive, and always quick to address any questions or concerns. They are wonderful hosts who genuinely care about the property and their tenants. If you are looking for a clean, safe, and comfortable place to live, look no further. The house is also located in a great, safe neighborhood with easy access to the metro, bus lines, and city bikes. I'm very lucky and grateful to find this stay.

Comfortable stay!

I was so happy that Tanya and Sam could facilitate my stay at their property. It was exactly as shown, and I felt so welcome and comfortable. They were always responsive to any questions or concerns. I loved how well-equipped and organised the house was, especially the colour coding! They were so approachable and kind. The location is also excellentquiet enough to relax, yet still within walking distance to the metro, grocery store, and other amenities.

Tanya made it possible for me to live in DC for nearly a year! Before moving, I struggled to find an apartment due to communication issues with others, but Tanya was easy to reach and very responsive. She even gave me a virtual tour via FaceTime since I couldnt visit in person. The move-in process was smooth, and she always responded quickly to texts and emails. Her color-coding system in the apartment made it easy for my roommates and I to know where to put our stuff, and she even gave us chocolates for the holidays! Tanya is a generous and thoughtful landlord who truly cares about her tenants and makes the moving experience much less stressful! I would recommend her to anyone looking to move to DC!

Great location, great price!

I stayed here for a six month work contract. I enjoyed the neighborhood, the home itself, the housemates, and Tanya & Sam as landlords very much. Tanya was always very attentive and warm while remaining professional. She answered promptly and even brought us chocolates during the holidays. If you want a hassle free living situation, then look no further! I highly recommend this apartment for any students or working professionals.

Clean, Calm and Respectful

I stayed here for a little over two months during Summer 2024. Right off the bat, Tanya was very responsive, clear and respectful when it came to communication. There were no blind spots while checking in. The house in itself is in a quiet and well connected location. I found the housemates to be very easygoing and a pleasure to live with. The way things are organized - from the color coded spaces in kitchen to chore schedules - played a huge role in the ease with which I was able to quickly settle in. Sam and Tanya have been wonderful and approachable without being intrusive. Would love to stay here again whenever Im in DC!!

home away from home

It was a true pleasure staying in this gorgeous pad! A year ago, I moved to DC for work and this home made for a warm welcome into this city. T and S were responsive and they genuinely cared about our wellbeing. T is always festive and likes to bring holiday treats which I found to be quite a nice gesture and made the house feel like home. My room was spacious with high ceilings and large windows which I loved to keep open during the spring and fall seasons. I loved the house because it had a historical row home feel but with modern amenities - so you get the whole DC experience! The neighborhood is safe and all the neighbors are friendly. I give it a 10/10.

Great Place to Stay

I enjoyed staying at this property. It is well-taken care of. T and S promptly responded to any issues I had and were quite flexible when I needed them to be. The neighborhood is fairly close to the downtown area and has major grocery stores within reasonable distance. It really provides you with all you need, including a neighborhood library. The best part is that the property is affordable and gives you an opportunity to have your own privacy, even if you are sharing the house with others. I would highly recommend this to students and young professionals.

Pleasant house

I've been living in this house for about 1.5 years. What I like the most about living here is the prompt support from the landlord about housing issues. The house is quiet and clean, which makes it a good choice for students. The neighbor is safe, with a lot of restaurants, cafes, grocery stores nearby. I totally recommend it!!

Affordable and Safe Housing

I've had the absolute pleasure of renting a property from S and T for the past year one year. The entire experience has been exceptionally good. The landlord has always demonstrated an incredible level of professionalism from the very beginning. The leasing process was smooth and straightforward. Upon moving in last year, I found the property to be in impeccable condition. Evidently, the landlord had invested time and resources to ensure the property was clean, safe, and functional. What I appreciate most about T and S is their considerate nature. They always gave ample notice before visiting for inspections or maintenance checks. They respected my privacy and made sure I felt comfortable and at home on the property. In conclusion, if you are looking for a rental experience that is easy, respectful, and professional, then look no further. I wholeheartedly recommend this landlord and property!

Recommended for young professionals and students!

I'm staying in T's basement house for a year. At first, I was afraid of what many people said about staying in the basement, but fortunately, I don't have any issues - for instance, on rats, floods, and any other usual basement issues. I really love how T have been managing the interior design, and my guests were also agreed with this! And when T said that we don't have to bring anything like cooking utensils, bedcover, towels and others, it's right! The house and room are fully furnished - even with kitchen appliances. T is also really responsive to solving any issues that happen, and she often comes to our home and brings us sweets! The house is also within walking distance of Petworth metro station (around 13 minutes walk), groceries and food, and a bus stop (64) which will take you anywhere downtown. I really recommend this house for a student or young professionals who look for cheap & affordable housing!

Best Places to Live in the DMV

This was a great house! The features are modern, immaculately clean, and excellent price. T was a phenomenal landlord! Very responsive, keeps housemates informed of new roomates arrival, and genuinely cares about tenants! Safe location especially for young female professionals. Grocery store within walking distance, quaint cafes and shops. Walking distance of the metro! Great community! I highly recommend.

Great spot and price!

My time at this property was great and I loved my time here. There's plenty of on-street parking and the neighborhood is perfect for afternoon walks. The house was great as well. Everything is up to date and I never had any issues. It's a quick walk to the metro which is a plus as well!

Best Landlords!

T and S have been my landlords since July 2021, I would honestly say they are the nicest landlords you could have! They are very kind, flexible, helpful and willing to accommodate your requests to make you happy and satisfied. They are always working to improve their properties and are very quick to solve any problems you may encounter. They say that before you even choose the property, you have to choose the right landlord and they are definitely the best! Their properties are clean, equipped, close to various facilities, and located in safe areas and pleasant neighborhoods. As a person coming from a foreign country, I have been having a good experience and relationship with them and I feel that they are close like a family. I highly recommend them!

Satisfied traveler!

Perfect location 10-15 minutes to downtown by car, 10 minute walk to metro, close to major hospitals Washington Hospital Center, Childrens, Howard, Sibley Memorial Tanya, as a landlord, was extremely accommodating and very easy to work with. I found her honest, sweet, and very helpful with my transition to D.C. Room/space was exactly how it was advertised. No adjustments/mishaps. Friendly housemates/clean environment Overall, a very positive experience!

Love Petworth

Owner Tanya is a sweetheart--quiet yet communicative, and accommodating as a landlord. I've lived here almost four months. The Petworth location is superb; metro station, grocery stores, excellent restaurants, shops, and library....within a 1/2 mile. Biking is quite easy. Room furnished and tasteful; shared bathroom.The kitchen has all the amenities. Loved my stay here.

I loved my stay at this place. The neighborhood is charming and quiet. There are great stores around at walkable distance. The landlord, Tanya, is amazing and very co-operative. The kitchen has all the amenities you need if you cook. The rooms are comfortably furnished for your needs.

Great location, amenities, and roommates!

The house is in a very nice and quiet neighborhood that's a convenient walk away from the metro, grocery shops, restaurants, and coffee shops. The kitchen is very clean, modern, and well-stocked with everything you need to cook for yourself. All of my roommates were young DC professionals and we all put in the effort when it came to chores and keeping the house clean. Tanya, the landlord, is also always really nice and responsive to any concerns that come up. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here!

Great place

I stayed in the basement of this house. There were 4 rooms in the basement I rented one. The place is newly renovated and there is a very nice kitchen. The metro is half a mile away. There is a bus stop right in front of the house. Lincolns Cottage is a few blocks away. Plenty of restaurants in the neighborhood. My time there was excellent. I would highly recommend moving there.
