No transparency from homeowner
Make sure you sign a lease before staying here. The homeowner would come into the studio and change the ac settings whenever I would leave the house. She only stopped when I finally confronted her about going into my space. When I asked her if she wanted to talk about it, she said no. Fast forward to September when I had to move out because she had rented the studio to someone else before checking in with me first. I messaged her about the deposit and she refused to return it to me since I "doubled her electric bill". Mind you, it was dead of summer and temps reached 100 degrees. Of course Im going to have the ac on. I have no problem forfeiting the deposit as long as a conversation was had beforehand. I just dont appreciate people taking advantage of travelers and thinking that having an additional person living on property wont change the utility bills.
My 2nd Home!!
I cannot recommend this place enough!! I stayed here for 9 months while working a contract at UNM. It's about a 25 min commute, but worth it. I love the town of Corrales and J's house is so cute and safe! As a solo female traveler, I felt so incredibly safe and comfortable in J's home. She is an amazing host and I love and miss her home! If this place is available, book it!!
Wonderful
Corrales is a charming town with great cafes. The studio had WiFi that works.. It was beautiful and the best thing about it was location. It feels remote yet is close to everything. From the private patio its like being in the Rockies as there are no homes impeding the view. Perfect for short term stays, cozy with a kitchenette. Lots of storage and light. The home is classic New Mexican architecture; tile and brick floors to wood beams and its quiet at night, except for the occasional coyote song. Host is lovely and helpful. Always a bright smile. One wishes they owned such a Spot. Enjoy!
A little slice of Heaven
I am a travel nurse from NC and stayed at this cute little studio for four months while doing a travel assignment in New Mexico. The property owner is fantastic, quiet, kind, helpful. This little studio had everything I could ask for. There is a spectacular view of the Sandia mountains from the patio; I'll miss that the most. I loved this little studio so much that I wasn't even sad during the "social distancing" when everything shut down. Being here made me feel like I was having my own private vacation. The private patio was a bonus! It's a great location close to many ABQ attractions.
Amazing Views
Great location! Amazing views! Its a dirt road away from the hustle and bustle of the city, but only 10ish minutes away from everything you could need/want. Its around 30ish minutes to UNMH! The studio feels very private and safe!
