Ensuite room in quiet Hope Valley - 2.7 miles from Duke

This is my 2nd stay at Ts lovely home in Durham. My 1st stay was last year and was brief, just over a month, but I enjoyed my time and our host so much that I have returned for a longer stay. Each stay was in a different bedroom, on the main floor, both with a private bath, a super comfy bed, desks,TV, large closets and located in their own wing of the house making them quiet and secluded. But my favorite part of the home is this incredible kitchen which has everything and then some, including a (modern) wood burning stove which keeps the home toasty. Additionally, as I also like to cook, the guests private pantry with its own refrigerator and sink is a nice perk. The large wooded lot has comfortable decks outside where, in the warmer months, I enjoyed my morning coffee and solitude of the neighborhood. But lastly, and most importantly, T is a warm, welcoming, easy going and generous host who loves to share her freshly baked bread, soups, and enjoys having you sample all sorts of other wonderful dishes she conjures up in her kitchen. I would recommend, as well as, encourage others to put this home on the top of your list as its warmth, quiet and ideal location will be perfect for any type of stay.

T's home is beautiful, peaceful, and has everything you need for either a short or extended stay. The location is perfect, very close to Duke and downtown Durham without the crowded feeling of a city. She is an incredible hostess and respects your privacy. I highly recommend this property, I would definitely stay here again!

This is a wonderful and beautifully furnished home for any professional traveler. I was so grateful to have such a welcoming and peaceful environment. T is very generous, accommodating and kind. She makes you feel that you have a home away from home. The property is absolutely enchanting with large beautiful trees. The fig trees were the largest I have ever seen. Thank you T for giving me my best experience, thus so far, with Furnished Finder. I found a true gem!

The homeowner is very nice. She is intuitive and understands that we are some days feeling up for conversation and others not so much. She allowed the home to become mine, in a way, I felt, as I can be introverted at times. She is wonderful with communication with her tenants, as well, about any upcoming "need to know" things in the home, even if it was a delicious meal she prepared and offered to share. The bedroom is tucked away in the back of the house, is quiet, has an adjoining bathroom with a shower and it all meets the needs of a single person needing a home away from from home. The room is large in size, plenty of storage space in closet and dresser. There is a television in the bedroom. Shared kitchen space is neatly kept and areas are separated between tenants (which is usually 3). I was sad to leave as this truly was a great experience staying in Durham, less than 10 minutes away from Duke University Hospital, with T.

This is a beautiful, picturesque property with 2 acres of wooded land, 8 mins from Duke University Hospital. This is a safe neighborhood, and a pleasant area to take a nice walk. The home and grounds are very tidy and well kept. The owner is a joy to be around and is very kind and caring. The home is clean and comfortable with all of the amenities that you need. You will leave with a new found friend in Thalea, she is just the best, and I truly miss her:)

Very comfortable room and private bath. T made me feel like a part of her family and is a great resource for the area. I worked midnights at the hospital and even with other people staying at the house, was able to get a good days sleep. Totally great place to stay and very close to Duke University Hospital!
