Great Location
I enjoyed staying with Angela! The bedroom was absolutely comfortable, and the house is across the street from a beautiful place to walk! Close to everything you might need makes life so much easier! Her backyard is gorgeous - plants are amazing! She takes good care of this historical place.
Hidden Gem
I enjoyed my stay and will definitely stay again in the future. The owner was pleasant and professional. The location was close to work and stores. A beautiful home and quiet neighborhood. I would highly recommend staying here.
False advertisement and pricing
It shows pictures of breakfast items. there was a used box of cereal and a few instant oatmeal packs, all else on shelf expired back to 2022, many expired items on common area fridge door as well. Quoted monthly price different on contract which was every 28days. No working television. No Gym. laundry room surrounded by dirt, dust, and hanging particles from torn ceiling. She charges a fee if she has to clean up behind you, however, I had to finish her laundry 4 times so I could use it. I washed her dishes three times. My roommate and I cleaned the entire kitchen because of its uncleanliness. Anytime I mentioned it she became very defensive and just stated how busy she is. She stated she only brings in professionals but she allowed students and family members to stay which we were constantly cleaning up after. I would not recommend staying here. She states its a charity on how cheap her rooms are. Lol. I could keep going but this is the highlights.
The Miracle on 34th Street
I was very blessed to have the opportunity to stay at the Harriott House. The rental price and amenities were far and above the best value of the many places I researched in the area. The house, built in 1920, has original woodwork and the interior beautifully restored and furnished by Angela with period pieces. Each bedroom is spacious and comfortable with bedding that enables a restful night's sleep. The front porch is a great place to relax and people watch as the ISU stadium is directly across the street with a wonderful jogging trail. Angela is the consummate host. She's a vivacious, intelligent, compassionate woman who goes above and beyond to ensure each guest has a relaxing and enjoyable stay. She provides a cornucopia of breakfast items, changes bed linens on a frequent basis, keeps the house very clean, occasionally shares a home-cooked meal, and is quick to respond to any requests or needs. I highly recommend this house to anyone visiting Terre Haute.
Feels like home
I loved staying at the H House! This property is so nice, quiet and comfortable. Everything mentioned is provided by the host. A made me feel welcome and went above and beyond to make sure her guests have everything needed. She is so warm, welcoming and has a heart of gold. The house is so clean and very relaxing and the bedding is incredible. I had a beautiful room with everything needed to make my stay so enjoyable. There is a walking trail just steps from the house with ample parking. Every morning I would sip coffee on the front porch and just enjoy the peaceful easy feeling of the outdoors. There was always fresh fruit, milk eggs and many other snacks that were readily available. She is the best host you could ever dream of! I highly recommend this house to anyone visiting or passing through Terre Haute.
Beautiful House with Ample Room
This beautiful house was perfect for my stint as a travel PT in Terre Haute. It is a very large house and is furnished with everything you could need. There is ample cupboard and fridge/freezer space and each room is spacious. Roommates are definitely a possibility but I saw this as a positive as you have the option to meet/talk to people when traveling to a different city. The host is very nice and will come and stay at the house sometimes. She responds quickly and helped address the few problems I had during my stay promptly. I would definitely stay at this property again if I come back to Terre Haute.
