Best of Chapel Hill
When my husband and I had to stay in the Durham area for medical care at Duke, we contacted this property. When we were first looking, he was having knee problems and the stairs here seemed to not be a good idea so Jill, the landlord for this property, was so great, and she helped us locate another property where we stayed for a couple of months. When we had to extend our stay and that property was booked, we went back to Jill since the knee was no longer an issue. Again, she was awesome, and we were able to move into her place for another two months. She and her husband were so accommodating to make sure our stay was great. The space is very comfortable, with a well stocked kitchen, comfortable bed, and in a beautiful neighborhood. The trails right behind the property are amazing, and the view of the forest from the porch is beautiful. We would definitely stay here again if the need arose!
Great place to stay!
My husband and I were here for 4 months and had a lovely stay! We enjoyed the quiet neighborhood and walking trails that were close by. The location was great for access to food, shopping, and getting to UNC campus. The apartment was clean and had everything we needed. Any questions or maintenance issues we had were quickly resolved by the hosts and communication was great from the start. I was also able to do a phone call and video walkthrough on FaceTime of the apartment, which made me feel comfortable before deciding to book. Highly recommend :)
Great place to live!
I loved living at the Sugar Shack! It was very clean and cozy, and tucked away in a very walkable, quiet neighborhood. Loved walking on the trail that backs up to the house. The furniture is very comfortable and it was easy to feel at home here. J and L were always so helpful with whatever I needed. Highly recommend!
A great choice
I rented this apartment from mid-January to mid-September, while in the limbo of an extended move from Virginia to Chapel Hill. It was exactly what I needed. The place is comfortable, well-furnished, and just as shown in the photos -- lots of space in each room, with all the furniture, dishes, linens, etc. that you would need. It's in a lovely, quiet residential neighborhood, but also a quick (like five minutes) drive to shopping, UNC's campus, etc. My dog and I really enjoyed walking and jogging in the neighborhood and on the Battle Branch nature trail that you can access just a block away from the house. The hosts live in the other part of the house, and are easy to reach, but I always felt that I had privacy and that I was in my own place. Thanks for everything.
Beautiful and Peaceful
My dog Remi and I were lucky enough to be able to stay in this apartment for just over a year. It is a basement apartment, but it is filled with light and surrounded by trees. I turned the covered back patio into an outdoor living room and quite enjoyed listening to the sounds of nature, especially the owls. It was a very comfortable haven to retreat to after a long day at the hospital. While it is quiet and peaceful, it is also very close to everything Chapel Hill has to offer. Its a hop and a jump to Whole Foods or Wegmans, or downtown to the shops and restaurants. Durham is also a short drive away and Raleigh is about a 35 minute drive. J and L were wonderful hosts - very helpful and quick to respond to any questions. And they were so gracious in helping me when I needed it. I was very sorry to leave.
Lovely place
We stayed in this apartment with my husband and my little dog from September to mid-December. The place is as it's seen in the photos. Each room is spacious and has all the necessary furniture. Very quiet and safe neighborhood, close to beautiful paths surrounded by nature. Also, J and L were very helpful and always available to answer any questions or make good recommendations. Thanks for everything.
Wonderful hosts, great location
I stayed in this spacious in-law suite for 3 months and had an amazing experience while travel nursing at Duke. The hosts are extremely welcoming and accommodating and will provide you everything you need for your extended stay. It comes equipped with a full sized kitchen, living room, bathroom, and plush king-sized bed. My dog also had plenty of room in the large back yard area as well as close access to wooded trails for longer walks. Highly recommend!
Amazing!
J and L are amazing hosts. Just a text away, and always respond in a timely manner. Even willing to bring my millions of packages from Amazon to my door! Haha. The space is cozy and inviting and well kept. They have an amazing big back yard that butts up to some local trails. My pup and I thoroughly enjoyed living there! Highly recommend! 10/10
Beautiful space
This has been an amazing stay! Genuinely, the sweetest, most accommodating family you will ever meet. They will go out of their way to ensure you feel comfortable and at-home. :) You also have a beautiful porch area (aka - great for drinking a glass of wine and just looking out at the grassy fields. Its a very spacious yard). WiFi is occasionally glitchy, but not bad! Im a gamer and it has not affected the quality of my game. Additionally, I know everyone has different preferences about mattresses, but their mattress is more comfortable than the one I have in MY OWN home. :O I sleep like a baby. Its probably what I was most concerned about, and it was so pleasantly surprising. I could continue, but I think I made my point. :) Just come on over. Jill and Lee will make you feel right at home.
