Convenient, centrally located, 3 bedrooms, 1 bath

I the host is a very kind and quick to respond. She really does want you to have a good stay and go the extra mile. The place is nothing fancy. Its a short ceiling basement unit. She provides a lot of fans because it can get hot down there. The only real issue I had was that you can hear the gals upstairs walking VERY loudly. They dont stay up late or anything but when I was on Night Shift it was sometimes a bit disturbing to my sleep during the day. But they dont do it on purpose or anything. Lots of kitchen gadgets, lots of storage spaces. She replaced the tv while I was there and its very nice. I was able to host my mother and sister in the extra bedrooms when they came to visit which was a huge perk. As long as you dont expect super fancy accommodations youll be happy here. We had a wonderful stay with Ida. The property description is accurate and the location is walking distance from downtown (including the incredible farmers market!). We would come back to stay in a heartbeat!

Over the entire period of stay, I was feeling how lucky I was to have been able to find this house and see it available when needed. The house is just rightly sized and equipped, and easy to live. It is also at a very convenient location: Many places to go for eating and shopping are only several minutes away either by walking or by driving. So I was feeling relaxed and staying like home in Hilo. The owner was very kind and flexible, and in quick e-mail contact across the period of stay. The residents upstairs were also kind and friendly, but yet independent which were all good to me. All in all I was quite happy about the stay and I would try to find if this house was available if I had another chance to stay in Hilo similarly long. The only minor points are the ceiling was a bit low to me ~6ft tall (because it is a downstairs unit, and the later the more I was getting used to it though) and there is no kitchen fan so I had to be a little careful in cooking.

This place was very comfortable with full of new and clean utilities. A lot of kitchen tools and dishes were nice to cook, although the gas stove and the sink are not side by side. Thanks to them, I enjoyed cooking and baking during the stay. The host is very helpful and friendly, and replied the questions in timely manner. The ceiling was rather low, so I needed to be careful when I did some stretch and/or exercise. But I (168cm tall) didn't feel inconvenience for it. The location was quiet almost all the time, but sometimes I heard neighbours' loud voices (mainly daytime). There are several stores and parks in walking distance, so you took a walk there if you'd like to.

This property is in a wonderful location, allowing you to easily walk downtown. There is plenty of room in the kitchen and living area to go along with the 3 rooms. The upstairs neighbors are kind, welcoming, and considerate, and the owner of the house responds quickly to questions and requests. Great stay, especially for the price.

This property is in a great location! I did not have a car for 6 months while living here because I could walk everywhere I needed to go. I am 5'5" so I had no trouble with the low ceilings. The neighbors in the upstairs unit and in the surrounding homes were friendly and respectful. There was a washing machine onsite and full kitchen. The big open living area was great for hanging out with my housemates. The property owner consistently bent over backwards to make me happy! She provided thoughtful amenities to make me feel comfortable and safe.

Great location, so convenient to be able to walk to the shops and the Bayfront of Hilo. Also, nice to come home to a quiet and peaceful place after long days working at the hospital (an easy commute). I especially appreciated how well equipped the house was and how it was so tidy and clean. The off street parking was a bonus. My only wish is that I could have stayed for longer. It felt like home.

The location is great; thats the one major thing that it has going for it. Of course, you do have dogs right next-door who bark day and night, and a rooster farm not too far away that will wake you up at all times of the night and morning. Also, theres a decent amount of space, with 3 decent sized bedrooms. And mildew smell. And SUPER LOW CEILINGS, so if you are above 56 tall, expect to be ducking a lot; the beams hurt terribly if you hit them. We did our best at this property, and we were able to make a good time of it. But youve got to deal with the downsides, and there are a few of them.
