Eckington is a traditional family friendly neighborhood with rowhouses and schools. The Southeast corner of the neighborhood does host some apartment complexes, a park, retail, and breweries. The neighborhood is adjacent to the Metropolitan Branch Trail, a paved pedestrian trail that runs from Takoma to Capitol Hill.
Great place to stay
I had the pleasure of staying here for 3 months. The place is in a great location and accessible to a lot of places to shop, eat and venture out. Elaina and Nathan were great hosts. Definitely would recommend this as a place to stay for travelers. It's close to Washington Hospital Center.
Great Stay & Experience
I stayed here for six months and thoroughly enjoyed my time. Elaina and her husband were super generous and accommodating to any needs that I had. They were such great landlords and super responsive! The unit is very nice and had everything that I needed. Notably, this past winter was extremely cold, but the unit was always nice and warm. The neighborhood is also very nice too. It is situated in a neat location, with convenient access to a neighborhood market, local restaurants, and urban centers for metro access and larger shopping. I really enjoyed everything about this place from the unit itself, the people, and the location!
Great Stay
I had a wonderful time staying at this English Basement Apartment. I enjoyed having my own space to be able to relax and enjoy my time when not at work. The metro was about 0.5 miles from the apartment and I walked a lot. Theres a wonderful walking path nearby and I was close enough to walk to and from work. Parking is street parking and you never have a problem finding a spot. The owners provide you with a parking permit but you have to send the DC DMV your information by completing the ROSA in order to avoid a ticket. Street sweeping is active so be mindful of the signs. The neighborhood is quiet and peaceful. The apartment itself is cute and cozy. I brought my own air fryer which was a great idea from my husband. I felt that there was plenty of space for me and my necessities. Theres a little corner store that I would recommend for anyone needing a quick bite to eat or something else. They make great sandwiches. The landlords are amazing. They check in and make you feel welcome.
Awesome studio in great location
This was a nice away from home location! The place is perfect for a single person visiting DC or traveling for work. The owners were friendly and helpful, and it's close to major hospitals, restaurants, downtown DC and major attractions. Would definitely book again if I'm ever in the area.
Great Place to Stay!
I stayed at this awesome studio apartment for six months while on assignment and it became my little oasis after my long shifts. It had everything I needed to make my stay comfortable, and the landlords E and N were very prompt and responsive with any questions or concerns I had. It is close to MedStar Washington Hospital Center, Children's Hospital and the VA Hospital. I was able to get back and forth (driving) to the hospital within 10 minutes or less. There are a variety of restaurants nearby, and there is a Planet Fitness a short drive away as well. Parking is convenient on one of the nearby streets, and it is a nice safe area. I definitely would stay here again when in the DC area!
comfortable & safe
The owners, E&N, were accommodating and always available in a timely fashion. They were graciously open to suggestions and requests. The streets are well lit and I was always able to park on the block. This immaculate unit is less than two miles from the off campus lot (#9) for MedStar Washington. Its also a quick Uber ride to restaurants and sightseeing.
Review
Hosts were very welcoming accommodating to needs! In a good part of DC and they went out of there way make sure my stay was as comfortable as possible. Recommend to anyone!
Excellent stay
Elaina and Nathan were fantastic landlords. Very prompt and gracious with answering any question or problem I had. Their place was very clean, had all necessities, and was in an excellent location. There is a bodega in walking distance, which was very convenient. Also just minutes away from the national monuments via Uber. Very safe neighborhood with very nice and respectful landlords. Would definitely rent again!!
Cozy and convenient!
I stayed during the month of July while my home was being worked-on. The studio is very private, with a well-lit and easy access entry. Loved the queen sized, very comfortable bed. The kitchenette had everything I needed for my temporary home, including an induction cook-top. Its a very spacious studio and with its own laundry, I was really comfortable (and incredible A/C). I also loved being able to walk up to Yangs market on the weekend for amazing breakfast sandwiches! As I dont have a car in the City, I mostly used Capital Bike Share, very convenient for getting around.
