My husband and I lived here with our dog for 4 months for a travel contract. Its a great location, super close to St Joes hospital and 2 grocery stores. What made it the best for us was all the great places nearby to take our dog. Walking distance to an awesome forest with basically unlimited trails. We didn't even come close hitting them all. Also super close to Sequoia Park. The area is safe and removed from the Riff Raff that occupy Eureka. When we were there they got a new washer/dryer, dishwasher, and a mattress. R is a very kind host and she seems to really care about her tenants. I would stay again and recommend to any fellow travelers. - Thanks R PS- Can withstand a 6.4 magnitude earthquake.
We stayed at Humboldt Blue summer of '23 and it was a great experience. R is so kind and goes out of her way to make you feel like family. She showed us hiking trails, gave us fresh fruit from her garden and always made us feel invited. The location is perfect, a 5 minute walk and you'll be in a forest full of ferns, huge red wood stumps and a creek. Close enough to the Ocean, big stores and Arcata to be a convenient drive. The whole family is hilarious and kind and made our summer extra special. I've been in multiple furnished rentals since and no one has had a kitchen as well stocked with necessities. Nor has anyone had treats ready for us and our pups when we arrived like R did. She was very accommodating to us with our 2 dogs and 2 cats and she even became friends with our anti social dog which we were very impressed by! You won't regret your stay here.
I came to Eureka as a traveling nurse. First of all, the house is about a 5 minute drive from St. Joes. You cant beat that commute! Also, one of the biggest benefits of living in this area for me was how close the forest is. The forest is a short 2 block walk from the house so I could do trail runs before work. Additionally, the house is cozy and clean with a nice little backyard. Also, R and B are easily the best landlords I have ever had. They were so kind and made staying there feel like home. I cannot recommend this property enough!!
My husband and I stayed here with our dogs during a travel nursing contract and it was the absolute perfect fit. As a traveler, being in a safe area is so important and this home is exactly that. It's tucked away off the main road and located in the best part of Eureka. Their home was 6 minutes from the hospital which was an extra bonus. The large fenced in yard was perfect for our dogs and the porch allowed a getaway to enjoy the beautiful Eureka weather with views of the Redwoods. The home had everything we needed and more. R and her husband were amazing hosts and went out of their way to make us feel comfortable, show us incredible spots around the area, and ended up becoming our friends. We are extremely thankful for their hospitality and if we ever venture back this way, there's no place we'd rather stay.
Such a cute refurbished cottage under the Redwoods in a quiet neighborhood. We stayed here for 6 months between selling our home and relocating. We had such a wonderful experience and the owners are *great* people, very attentive. Located in a safe area and central to everything! Bed is comfy, walk-in closet, and additional storage/hanging space in living room. The kitchen is well stocked, eat-in area with table. Grocery store within a short walk, hospital within a 5 minute drive or 15-20 minute walk (lots of walkers/bicyclists in the area). Speaking of walking; tons of hiking trails and parks nearby and the local zoo too. Very few rentals in the area have a washer and dryers onsite so we view this as a *serious benefit* to staying here. We also enjoyed having the carport, and during the rain we used it as an additional outdoor entertainment/dining area. It also was nice having the fenced yard for our pup. Neighbors were friendly. We would definitely stay here again.

We also love pottering in the garden harvesting fruit and veggies. We have a background in Wildland fire fighting and EMS. We're very social and love meeting new people and making life long friendships.
