Great house, convenient location to YNHH

I just finished a three-month assignment at YNHH, and I had a really positive experience. The owner is friendly and easy to get along with, making the stay comfortable. Commuting from Bethany to YNHH turned out to be quicker and smoother than I expected. The house is nice and quiet, and the room is spacious with a comfy bed. Sharing the kitchen was no trouble at all, and I felt welcome throughout my stay. Overall, it was a good experience!

A great place and Host

I came as a 3-year PHD student, stayed here off an on for over three years. S was a great host never a problem always accommodating even when I needed to travel for a month or so. He held my room and belongings - never a problem to keep my room. He and his son are great cooks and many a holiday I was always invited to share with his family. If Im back in New Haven I will be staying here.

Do not rent from this guy unless you want to be treated like a child

The owner of this property, "Star" as he likes to be called seems nice but a bit odd at first. He makes you sit down and sign a contract before he will rent to you, which is understandable. As time goes on though, he begins to make up rules that not were in the contract that you initially signed. He tells you that you are not allowed to eat or store any food in your room, that you are paying for. He is a complete control freak, to the point that he inventories his silverware and dishes to make sure you do not have any in your room. He also allows himself and his 17 year old son to exit the house through the garage, but nobody else is allowed to do so, even though the garage leads straight to the room you are renting. He also has quite a temper, on Thanksgiving he became irate and cussed out a 19 year old kid for putting food on the table incorrectly. He is very condescending and always in your business. HIGHLY DO NOT recommend.
