Great stay in Baker, Denver!

I had a phenomenal stay at Peter and Mel's house. I was meant to stay for just three months while I looked for other accommodations, but loved my time so much that I stayed for about eight months. It is a cozy space in a neighborhood with lots of character, walkable to cafes, breweries, restaurants. Old home, but everything worked and was in good shape. When a maintenance issue arose, the landlords were prompt to help fix it. The owners really care about this place. Thank you Peter and Mel for a wonderful stay!

Dont rent!

The owners will charge you your entire deposit over the smallest, most nonsensical things. If youre okay with giving thousands of dollars to the owners for no apparent reason go ahead and book here!

This is a complete mischaracterization of the situation. The tenant had marginal credit to start, could not put down the entire deposit and first month rent, but we took it on faith that she would eventually pay, which she did. She missed her first month's rent because of some payment issues with her agency, which we also did not penalized her for. "Thousands" of dollars is also completely untrue. We only charge a deposit of $1,125 (half of one month's rent), and returned about $400 of it back. The amount we retained from the deposit was for the deep clean, repairs (unreported by the tenant), damaged caused by the dogs, and dog poo pick-up that went directly to our repair person and cleaner. The tenant left the unit very dirty with deep stains and piles of dog hair, as if she never cleaned the house in the 2.5 months she was there, and left more than 40 piles of dog poo in the backyard that our cleaner and maintenance people had to pick up after. We stipulated in our lease that the house needs to be returned to us near the condition it was received and that each pile of poo that our cleaners pick up will be charged, since no one other than the dog's owner should ever have to do that job. We have a strong track record of good tenants that we returned the full security deposit to and this was the exception by far.
