Wonderful Landlord
I was at Janese's home for 12 months, it was one the best stay experience I've ever had since becoming a traveler, she was nice , accommodating and responded to issues if any very promptly, I just hope that when I do return to StLouis I'm fortunate enough to have a vacancy at her home.
Wonderful Stay!!
I had a great stay at Jenese’s place. I’m a visiting medical student at WashU, and she was incredibly welcoming, friendly, and attentive from day one. The house is very safe, clean, calm, and cozy, and the garden is beautiful with a small pond that makes the space feel really peaceful. Jenese was always on top of everything and made sure everyone was comfortable. I was new to St louis, and Jenese always helped guide me with love. The location is excellent, right across from SLU and about 10 minutes from WashU, in a very safe area. Public transportation is easy, with a bus stop across the street, another a short walk away, and the train about 20 minutes on foot. I also felt very safe running in the neighborhood, which is stunning and part of the arts district. I originally planned to stay one month, but extended my stay to three and a half months because I was so comfortable. I would definitely come back and highly recommend staying here.
My Stay at Janese's
I am extremely grateful to Janese for such warm hospitality. Despite my clumsiness, she was understanding, reasonable and accessible. I could find lots of good food, groceries, shopping and access to major highways nearby. Parking was good and my car was safe. Having laundry onsite and space in the kitchen was a much-needed perk
great place to stay
Wonderful place to stay. great communication with Janese. I had a great experience staying here. Close to downtown and Hospitals. I would come back to stay. Thanks, Janese, for everything
Beware of this listing
My experience here was very unpleasant. To begin, the house is very cluttered, has mice, and constantly had electrical issues, the smoke alarm in my room didnt work. The bed has a large dip so very uncomfortable. Many times the electricity in part of my room didnt work, so the heater, microwave, kitchen light, and TV didnt work many times. Id have to go to the basement to reset the breaker (the owner is an electrician) so this shouldnt have been the case. my car got broken into and the passenger window busted out on 11/12/23. The owner never knocked on my door to let me know, only sent a text. Thankfully I was awake. She told the security guard that found it that she didnt want to disturb me. This is what the security guard told me. When I told her that I had found a new place to stay, giving her 24 hours notice, the following week, she didnt want to meet me to get the keys back. I had to call the police and have them witness me leaving the keys in the mailbox. Dont rent here!!
A GREAT STAY!
The house is close to Barnes hospital and a thriving arts district. In the three months I stayed there, parking was never an issue. Homeowner is nice, courteous and accommodating. The location feel safe, would stay again!
Amazing location
This property is definitely worth staying at comfy and safe. The owner is trustworthy and very kind. She will offer you any assistance you may need. I am definitely going to come back to stay in this safe house
comfortable month-long stay!
I did a month-long clinical rotation at SLU for medical school and was traveling from LA. I found J's property on here and the price and location combined offered everything I needed. It was my first time going to St Louis and J was so welcoming and helpful! Her property is a 3 story house set up perfectly to take professional travellers. My room came completely furnished with a twin bed, desk, microwave, and minifridge. The kitchen and bathrooms were also well-stocked with everything you would need, which was super helpful for me since I was traveling light. I would definitely recommend her house for anyone looking for a short-term stay! The location is close to many of St Louis' attractions/good food and public transportation is easily accessible if needed.
Rich
Awesome older home! Lots of character. Accommodating quiet individual rooms, able to make your own. Nice back yard with koi pond and lots of pretty flowers. Short commute to Barnes Jewish. Host was terrific with lots of knowledge regarding surrounding area and current happening events. Would definitely stay again.
Lovely Old Home
An updated old home with a bright sunroom and a peaceful fish pond and fountain in the back. Lots of flowers growing as well. Due to old, thick walls, noise doesn't travel far. Very friendly host will help with any issues to assure a pleasant stay.
Pleasant experience
The owner was/is kind, and easy to talk to. My overall experience there was good. Big house with lots of character! Things aren't perfect, but a roof over my head was all that really mattered. I will definitely check for availability the next time I'm in STL. I wish I could have stayed longer. I recommend!
Great stay
This was my first time staying in a shared house and it was great. J the owner was very welcoming and helpful. The room I had came equipped with a refrigerator and microwave which was nice. Even though there were other medical professionals staying in the house I never had an issue when it came to shared spaces such as the bathroom. The drive to Barnes was only around 5 minutes depending on traffic which was amazing. All in all this was a really great place to stay and I would definitely stay again if I came back to St. Louis.
Not great for night nurses
*Has mice, caught 2 while there. *Not quiet- landlord doing home projects on house all the time and church construction next door will not provide good day sleep *street parking has 4 spots but 7 people live here, others will have to park in the empty lot/grass next door (not sure if thats legal). *7 people living there, one shower and one kitchen area. *old house, lots of clutter Could be ok for short term or days if you dont cook. Otherwise, would not recommend for most traveling nurses.
