Great Oakland Stay

Miss D was a great landlord. I personally believe I am pretty low maintenance & only bother my landlords when absolutely necessary. During my 5 month stay, I probably contacted Miss D once. I found this unit a month after staying in a rental property from hell & boyy was I thankful to break that lease & move into this unit! Everything was clean on move in, the heat worked like normal, the pictures are exactly what youll get, monthly payment process was easy, & moving out was just as easy. Just a couple things to note: 1) There is no a/c (typical Oakland homes) and it does get a little hot when its warm outside, but totally manageable. 2) You can hear the neighbors upstairs, but theyre so sweet & were never a bother or disruptive. 3) Monthly rent is as advertised, but was surprised during lease signing there was a property tax add on tht I wasnt aware of prior to, so that was a budget edit (never experienced that in other units but fine). A Sunset kitchen view

Im in love with this apartment. My first night here I saw the most beautiful sunset from the kitchen table. D is an absolute sweetheart and made me feel at home from day one. She responded quickly and even checked in to see if I needed anything. The decor is tasteful and the bed is super comfy.

D is very nice and welcoming in the beginning however please read over your contract carefully before signing anything. The listing states utilities are included which this is an false advertisement! I only received $400 of my deposit back because she stated her gas/electric bill was over $500. I have been a travel nurse for over 5 years and I never once ever had to pay someone utility bill. The amount she charging for this unit is not worth it. When I first moved in there it was a cheap ikea bed and the mattress underneath was supported by plywood boards and the bed had fell to the floor so she sent her long term tenant guy from upstairs to try to fix the bed until she realized it needed to be changed out. She came and changed the bed out to another frame that she brought in the 60s very cheap and old still supported by plywood boards. The water in the unit didnt stay warm so she had to get someone to come out to fix that. The furniture looks horrible for the amount of money she making off these units. And the sad part is she is a sister. As a travel nurse and a black business owner I would never try to get over on my own people! I have text messages from this owner demanding I pay her gas bill and videos of this unit. Please feel free to reach out I will be more than gladly to send attachments. D I hope you enjoy the $500 you took from me. Travel nurses talk and give recommendations on housing I will make sure your name be known as a fraud!

D is absolutely an amazing lovely woman and host! She was very welcoming and any questions I had during my stay she got back to me right away! The design of the apartment building is super cute and modern, including a rock garden at the front entrance. Its located on a quiet cul-de-sac street.I felt comfortable and safe at the location. Neighbors were very welcoming. The unit itself was shockingly huge! Plenty of closet space included a walk-in closet in the hallway. As a night shift nurse, I really appreciated the blackout curtains and fan in the room to drown out any noise. The kitchen appliances were all new. The unit as a whole was very very clean. A short commute to all hospitals in the area, as well as gyms, grocery and drug stores along with an abundance of coffee shops and restaurants. Definitely check out the grocery store 'Farmer Joes', I'm addicted to their rotisserie chicken! You will not regret your stay here! I highly recommend.

Great Place to call home

D is very friendly and does her best to accommodate to your needs! Communicates to you in a timely manner. Does her very best to answer any questions or concerns you have. Was unable to stay at the location due to me looking for a 2 bedroom but D was very helpful. Would recommend staying at her home.

Perfect place for travelers

I have had a very pleasant experience at this location for the past 3 months. The drive to Kaiser Oakland is just at 10 minutes which was perfect for my daily commute; there are also restaurants and grocery stores within 5 minutes of the apartment. This unit is fully equipped with everything you will need for a comfortable stay here in Oakland, it is beautifully decorated with unique art work and the living spaces are very spacious and homey. The landlord was always very responsive when I called her with any questions about the apartment, she is very nice and professional and will make sure your needs are met. If I return to work in Oakland I would love to book this unit again!
