A Hidden Gem: The Perfect Home Away from Home

Living at Mt. Helix Hideaway for nearly three years while completing my graduate degree was nothing short of amazing. Jim and Markus went above and beyond to make me feel safe, supported, and genuinely cared for. They werent just landlords; they became my support system and made me feel like I had family right here in San Diego. The neighborhood itself is incredibly peaceful and serenea perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. On top of that, their thoughtful gestures, like sharing fresh fruits and eggs from their yard, added such a personal and warm touch to my experience. As someone who moved to a big city feeling nervous and out of place, I can confidently say Mt. Helix Hideaway became my home away from home. Im truly sad to leave, but will always cherish the memories I made here and the comfort it brought me during such an important time in my life.

Best. Place. Ever.

Took my very first travel nurse assignment here in San Diego and really needed a home away from home. This place was everything and more. The neighborhood is quiet and I felt very safe. It was very close to the hospital I was working at and it was also close to anything and everything I wanted to experience while I was there (hikes, beaches, bars, restaurants, coffee shops, etc...). The best part about this spot was the owners, J and M. They were so accomadating and attentive to anything I needed. They even would bring cute little baskets filled with apples and tomatoes from their garden. I felt so welcomed by them. We had wonderful communication the entire six months I was there. I had a really hard time leaving and I miss it so much already. I am truly thankful for J and M. They exceeded my expectations greatly and I would not hesitate to rent from them in the future.
