Room - Apartment in Alameda, California
Landlord Tenure: 4 years, 10 months
This house was built in 1890 and retains the charm of a Victorian while affording modern amenities. The apartment is safe, friendly and cozy. this space is 250 sq feet, is fully carpeted with light blocking shades on all the windows. The room has a walk in closet that is 4' x 9'. For a Victorian, the bathroom and kitchen are quite large and there is a nice garden in the back that is shared with very nice downstairs neighbors. I...
Please see pictures. If you need to be in San Francisco just be aware that there is a commute from Alameda which is in the east bay. Commuting across any bridge there is a $7 toll and parking costs. There are express busses, ferries, and the rapid transit trains. Rents are much lower in the east bay compared to SF. Alameda is a great little community and an island. It has a beach, is very walkable, Victorians, breweries, winerie...
Alameda is an island in the San Francisco Bay. Its closer to Oakland. It a beautiful divers community.
Spacious, private room in Alameda
This is a clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully designed space within walking distance of a coffee shop, Crown Memorial Beach, and Webster Streets shops and restaurants. The front bedroom is bright, spacious, and private, with space to work, eat, and relax. Its a great value given its proximity to SF and the more affordable options in Alameda. The ferry terminal is a short drive or bike ride away, and the O bus stops just around the corner. Alameda feels safe and well cared forI felt comfortable walking or running at night. Karen, the host and housemate, is kind and knowledgeable, and shes stocked the place with everything you needtowels, hairdryer, kitchen supplies, etc. I didnt have a car, so I especially appreciated that she helped me find a bike to get around town and run errands
Great Summer Rental!
I had a great time renting here with Karen. She was super nice and very accommodating. The house is gorgeous and a lot of love went into making it that way, I especially loved all the ferns she had. The room is very spacious with a lot of space for personal belongings and the desk + ethernet makes it easy to do work while at home. I cooked a lot at home and Karen was super accommodating with me using the kitchen. The location is perfect as well. The house extremely close to one of the main streets (Webster Street), a park and the beach. As well, its just a few minute drive to the shopping center and Park Street. The neighborhood is super cute too! I would walk around after work and on the weekends I usually went to the coffee shop a few doors down, Lazy Bird. I had a great time over the summer renting with Karen. I would absolutely recommend for anyone looking for a stay in central Alameda!
Cozy Home Away from Home
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here. My room was super spacious and came with its own personal living room which gave me that extra feeling of privacy. The house is at a very convenient location and in walking distance to nice restaurants and parks in the area. K was always one call away and available whenever. Our convos were great and she was very personable. We respected each others time and space which are vital when it comes to the feeling of comfort during these travel contracts. A plus is that whenever she made delicious baked goods, there was plenty to share! I would stay here again if I come back for another Bay Area contract!
Great place for the summer!
I rented from K for three months over the summer and I would definitely consider this place a gem. The private room is super spacious and the house is cute, clean, and well-maintained. Bathroom is shared, but K was very accommodating to my work schedule and I had no problems at all sharing it with her. Karen is super friendly and fun to hang out with, and was a great help in introducing me to the bay and putting me on to the best spots. Overall a nice, quiet place in a great location. With a short walk you can get to the park, the beach, and some delicious restaurants and cafes. The area is very safe and residential--I never felt unsafe walking home alone at night. I didn't have a car, but public transport off the island was quick and easily accessible. I worked in Oakland 5 days a week and often went into SF and Berkeley evenings and weekends. I would definitely rent again!
