The historical Sedgwick neighborhood in Syracuse is riddled with mansi...
Safest neighborhood in Syracuse. Beautiful old homes, quiet streets 1-2 miles to all hospitals.
Great place
I fully believe the rat reviews never stayed here. I've been here about a month and it has been a great experience. I plan to stay as long as I'm contracted nearby. The neighborhood is safe, the house is quiet and clean and it's less than a 10 minute drive to upstate hospital. The roommates are courteous and the yard is gorgeous. It's an older house with a lot of charm but I haven't seen evidence of any rodents nor any evidence of rodent removal. Whoever said that could not possibly have stayed at this place.
Rats!!!
As soon as the weather got cold the Rats moved in!! The landlord who also lives upstairs did not seem to care. When I originally moved in my room had not been cleaned from previous tenant. Owner is nice but unfortunately doesn't seem to care about keeping the house safe for renters.
A Hazardous Living Environment
My recent stay at this property was an alarming ordeal due to the hazardous living conditions. The rampant rat infestation and widespread droppings, notably in the kitchen, posed an immediate threat to our health and well-being. Despite numerous appeals, the landlord callously neglected our pleas and refused to arrange professional pest control services. Adding to the dire situation was the pervasive mold growth in the restroom and shower tiles, creating an unsanitary environment that compromised our safety. Despite clear evidence of these hazards, the landlord displayed a shocking lack of concern, showing a complete disregard for the welfare of tenants. The landlord's deliberate deceit through misleading property photographs is deeply troubling and underscores a concerning pattern of exploitation. Prospective renters deserve transparency and honesty, not manipulation and neglect. I strongly caution against considering this property for rent; its conditions are hazardous to health.
Lisa
I recently stayed in this home. It's was unfortunate that my contract was cut short. S was very nice and understanding and I had no issues with her returning my deposit even with short notice. Rooms are spacious and clean. I do recommend staying in her home. It was very close to hospital and in a very safe neighborhood. I would definitely stay in this home again if given the opportunity to in the future.
Filthy Residence with misleading pictures
Landlord S will keep your deposit and not refund it. This house is extremely dirty and filthy with active mouse/rat droppings in the kitchen and rooms and rat trappings placed in most corners around the house. The bathroom is overrun with mold and filth. The mold is even growing on the shower curtain which most likely hasn't been changed in a long time. There are holes on the bottom of the walls from being chewed up by the rats, which this Landlord has stuffed with plastic bags in order to attempt a lousy job of rodent control. This listing is an extremely unlivable home and landlord falsely and deceitfully lures vulnerable nurses into this filthy residence with misleading pictures on the profile.
Wonderful place to stay!
I am just finishing up my stay and I have nothing but good things to say. The place is nice, quiet, clean and close to the hospital. I didn't have to deal with checking in or out of a hotel or having to lug my stuff back and forth from my home in Rochester. I would definitely 10/10 recommend this apartment.
