Yellow Townhome in Gated Community

I first want to say, I agonized over whether or not to post this review, but this was my experience so maybe I can save others some headaches. The description is of a gated community but it is gated in name only. The gates do not require a passkey, keycard or code to be entered. The entrance to the community has gates always open, the community exit didnt start closing the gate until I had been staying there for 2 months and even then they opened automatically. The surrounding neighborhood is very run down and looks sketchy as well. The condo only has a one car width driveway and 1 car garage, with no street parking so there is a lot of moving around to let the permanent tenant in and out, to the point that I just started parking around the corner to prevent it since I was working nightshift. None of this was told to me beforehand, if it had been I would have chosen somewhere else to stay. The permanent tenant never volunteered to take turns parking around the corner so I had to work 12 hour shifts then walk sometimes a mile back from where ever I found a parking space. The permanent tenant had her belongings all over the bathroom sink, making even brushing My teeth difficult without knocking her belongings down. Every time I went to the bathroom I would trip on a scale that was on the floor because the bathroom was so small. After a few weeks she finally moved it out of the bathroom realizing the room was too small to have a scale. In the kitchen the permanent tenant was told to clear space in the cabinet for my things, which she did. But she did not explain to me that there were certain utensils that I was not allowed to use. It would just be this weird passive aggressive move where I would use the wrong silver ware (presumably her silverware) and the next day it would disappear because she was putting it somewhere I could not get it instead of just explaining to me that I was not allowed to use it. The tenant really didn't speak to me or make eye contact unless she was telling me a new rule. After being there a week or two the landlord came and introduced herself to me and I told her that I might extend my contract and asked her could I continue to stay there for the duration of my contract . After this interaction with the landlord the permanent tenant became even more passive aggressive . I could tell she did not like having to share her living space. Some days in the first month I lived there, she would stay up late, take over the kitchen, dining room and living room and there were times I had to wait until very late before i could even cook myself a meal. After being there about 3 weeks the newest rule at that time was that I was not allowed to use the bathroom between 8:00 and 8:30 in the morning because she wanted to use the bathroom at that time. Which meant I was not allowed to take a shower when I got home from work. I wasnt sure why the rule was changing after I had been there almost a month. Even though I was told I was not allowed to take a shower in the morning when I got home from my 12 hour shift, I figured if no one was in the bathroom then I could use the bathroom. The next morning I continued my same routine and took a shower when I got home from work. After I got out of the bathroom and went into my room I heard the permanent tenant barrel out of her room and come knock on my door presumably to confront me about the fact that I took a shower when I got home. I Decided not to answer the door to avoid the confrontation because by this point things were just too weird in the house. She must have complained to the landlord who texted me to chastise me about forgetting to lock the screen door (probably all she could think to confront me about). But there was not much else she could say because I was not disregarding anybodys constitutional rights I was just using the bathroom when it was open. A few days after that incident the permanent tenant removed most of her belongings from the top of the sink probably on the landlords request. On top of issues with the other tenant it got very very hot in the condo but all the windows were sealed shut so I could not open them to get air circulation. I ended up having to buy a fan because it would get stifling since the sun shown directly through the window of the room I was sleeping in. I also had to bring a space heater because apparently I was not allowed to adjust the thermostat when it got cold or hot and some nights the temps were in the teens. There were also no blackout blinds in the room so if you work night shift you will probably have to buy a face mask like I did. It got so stressful to live there I ended up just driving home five hours even if all I had was two days off just so I would not have to be in the same house as the permanent tenant. On a more minor note I also got charged $100 for a broken drawer that was broken when I got there. However I did not mention it when I got there so I just have to eat that cost. Overall the owner was very nice though.

I have no complaints the owner made me feel comfortable and safe for my 3 month travel job most defiantly would recommend to friends and family
