Nothing nice to say
All I can say is beware. There was too many issue, from day three, in which I didn't have quiet enjoyment of the room I rented. I never got to sleep in on my days off. And was constantly harassed through text. She doesn't like puppies or intact dogs. And she will try to keep your deposit and find whatever means necessary to make you pay more. There are many many reasons I left early. Like I said, beware.
Welcoming home
I stayed here for 6 1/2 months. It was very convenient to get to Carilion Clinic. It's in a nice neighborhood. The best part was the welcoming atmosphere for me and my two little doggos. Laura was an accommodating hostess. She acted promptly when I raised any concerns (there were very few). She loves the town and is ready with suggestions for dining, hiking, shopping
Great Stay!
I stayed with Laura for 9 months and it was great! She made me and my dog Charlie feel right at home. She would let me work in her yard (which I miss being able to do while traveling) and collect fresh eggs from the chickens. She was so good with Charlie and would let him sleep with her till I got home. If back in Roanoke I would definitely stay with her again!
Travel assignment stay
Absolutely LOVED my stay with Laura. A daunting part of a travel assignment is finding housing. She went out of her way to meet with me prior to moving in so I could meet her and see where I would be staying. Her space is welcoming and there are CHICKENS. Local to nearby stores and hospitals. As a woman traveler this is our safe space for assignments.
Great place!
I stayed at this property for about 3 months while on a travel nurse assignment. The host is wonderful and the house is beautiful! This property is very pet friendly. I stayed at this property with my cat. The host communicates very well, is sweet and considerate. The home is older and full of character. It feels like a cozy home. I love the layout of the home and really love the kitchen/dining area. Occasionally, I would enjoy sitting for dinner with the host and her partner. Very welcoming host. The location is perfect! It is walking distance from a few local stores and restaurants. I enjoyed going on walks in the Grandin neighborhood. This location is also really close to several hospitals which helped to make my work commute easy. I would definitely stay here again and recommend this property.
My review
I stayed at this property for 9 months while on assignment in Roanoke. During my stay the host was very accommodating, responsive, and helpful. The home is just that, a home so it does appear to be lived in. Its an older home so it does have some older charms so if you enjoy a house with some character then this will be perfect. Its also a dog friendly space so when I needed to bring my dogs for a couple of my assignments she happily obliged. The host was so kind to teach me some of her trades such as soap making, gardening, and herbal medicine. It made the stay so much more than just an assignment, it made me feel like I was home. The area is so beautiful with parks, stores, and local restaurants within walking distance. It definitely made me feel immersed in the grandin village culture. I would recommend this place to anyone who is wanting a sense of home away from home while on assignment.
