Couldn't have found a better spot

I came for 13 weeks and stayed for 5 months. If you are looking for a well appointed 2 bedroom w all the amenities and the added bonus of a built in community, then you have found your rental property. You will have the added bonus of being immersed in Hawaiian culture and the fruits of the land and sea. The upstairs neighbours could not be more respectful and your hosts without being intrusive are responsive to your every request.

Forever in my heart

Im a traveling respiratory therapist and worked at Hilo medical Center. Dede and James are the best landlords I've ever had. I had great memories here but unfortunately I had to return back to the mainland sooner than expected. I miss the sound of coqui frogs and the lychee tree in the back. The place was absolutely perfect! Also I will never forget Hoku the stray cat that always came over for food but now made his home here. Grace and I always think of Dede & James and I trust that we will return again soon. Aloha and Mahalo!

Honest Review: Not the best

Honest Review. CONS: six weeks of NO privacy-you can hear everything from coughs to conversations, neighbors partying all night 2 times a week, and because no AC you can't close the windows. Absolutely filthy kitchen upon checking in-I had to clean everything before using it including the sticky floors, mold growing on the walls and in the shower, carpets hadn't been cleaned in years-found hair and debris in every corner, a used sofa was brought in covered in dirt, the coin washing machine ruined my things, and after I departed essentials were deducted from my deposit. The landlady didn't respond after I brought all this up and charged me for a made up deduction, also without discussing it, not good vibes. PROS: Like glamping! You're in Hawaii and there's a lot of beauty to explore! The man of the house is kind and friendly. The trees are gorgeous, and the moments of peace were unforgettable.

Best home in Hilo

I stayed here for my first travel nurse assignment and could not have gotten luckier. The place itself was so cozy and had everything you could think to need, which made the big move to island life so easy! Less than a mile to Hilo Medical Center and super easy to get into town and the beaches. The owners are some of the kindest people I've ever met and made me feel so welcome and at home the whole time. Would stay here again in a heart beat if I ever get the chance!

BEST STAY EVER

I stayed here during an assignment at hilo medical center. The weather is perfect at this elevation. The house always stays cool with a beautiful breeze. The property has some beautiful trees and great landscaping which keeps all the lovely singing birds around. The landlords are the best Ive ever had in all my time of renting. They are great for advice around the island and take wonderful care of their property. The best sleep I ever got in my life was at this place, I miss it every day.
