Safe and Quiet

Quiet and perfectly placed home, the neighborhood is peaceful and safe. Safety is my and my husband's priority as I travel as a lone female. Plenty of living space in the rented room with a recliner, wifi, and plenty of cable channels to choose from. The gentleman, C, was always respectful and ensured a high quality living space (plenty of storage in the room, pantry, fridge, etc.) The home is always clean as a paid cleaning service came once a month to deep clean the home. Nobody is without their quirks but with communication we were able to cohabitate very well (being mindful of highly scented items, venting out the kitchen when cooking indoors, etc.) C was always considerate and checked in weekly to ensure the stay was up to standards or if there were any needed improvements. I enjoyed sharing meals, movie watching, and casual conversations with C and would make this my next home away from home again if I found myself back in the Minneapolis area.

Zero privacy and fragrant sensitive

You get what you pay for. Zero privacy. He is sensitive to shower body wash, room deodorizer, and well anything with fragrance. Came back from work to find he entered my room and my vent covered and taped up with masking tape and cardboard therefore received no ventilation or heater during the winter in October/November '23. I also came back from work to find that, and towel taped to bottom of door. He moved my things in bathroom and my groceries in the kitchen. I paid my rent without fail. I work hard on my feet all day, and just want to relax. (I have pics) Good luck to you if you rent.

if you like your privacy, you get none

I had never wanted to go back on my word till my stay here. the man would go into my private space. he would touch my things and even talk down to me. the price is great but when you sacrifice privacy and respect it is not worth it.

Best suited for a male, but safe, low rent

This is a nice location if you like to get out and walk. Safe enough area to walk, and close to the park on the river. Nice neighbors. The living situation is more suited for a male than a female but you can try to overlook some. The owner seems to be hospitable, he gives adequate fridge and cupboard space, wants to make it comfortable, but is very set in his ways. He doesnt use a printer so I bought one, but he does have cable and wifi and supplies most of what you need. However, he sleeps and naps on the living room sofa or on a bed next to the washer and dryer, so the living room was like his bedroom, theres night terrors that echo, and he feels comfortable walking point A to B in undershorts or a towel. Theres one smoke detector downstairs in a nonfunctional bathroom but its a non smoking home. There is no lock on the bathroom door or bedroom doors, but when he has family staying over, they will generally try to work around your schedule for bathroom time before work. It is a quiet neighborhood, and I was only the second traveler here, so hopefully things are improving. The owner is clearly used to living alone, so it was a bit of an unusual stay, but for $600/month there are trade offs.
