Gem of Boston Housing
This space is such a gem amongst the tough housing market in Boston. It has everything that you could need: a full kitchen, in unit washer and dryer, and parking, plus the benefits of extra space, a large private deck and a quiet environment. K and his wife were great landlords. He was always quickly available for any concerns that I had and was very good with communication! Location: This property is located in the quiet, safe community of Winthrop. Its close to Deer Island which was my favorite spot to go walk to get both views of the city and the ocean! All the basic necessities are within a 10 minute drive. I worked at Beth Israel, it took me about 25 min to drive. Parking there costs $26 for days and $5 for nights. Most days I parked at the Orient Heights Station for $5 and took the train into the city. To work it took 50 min door to door by taking blue line to the D-green line. To MGH it would be an easy commute on the blue line. Overall I would recommend this space!
tucked away treasure
I love this walk-out basement apartment for multiple reasons! The town of Winthrop is the cutest little place with plenty of amenities and things to do. The apartment itself is extremely quite and safe. The pictures don't portray how big this space is. The bedroom is very large, plenty of closet/storage space and the bed is comfortable. There is an abundance of natural light that pours through the large windows. Having a washer and dryer in the apartment is an added bonus. I also loved having my own deck space to read on :) I was working in Cambridge and could get there within 25 min. Public transportation is available for easy access into the city or to the airport. There are plenty or restaurants/cafes to explore. When the sun is our, you should definitely take a walk and appreciate the beautiful scenery Winthrop offers. K and S are great people and I hope this place is available any time i come back to the boston area for work.
Unicorn in Boston
If it weren't for finding this home, I don't know if I would have stayed in Boston for as long as I did. I initially fell for the beacon hill postings that were 'walking distance' to everything and paid not only double, but didn't have a quarter of the amenities or space as this home provides..not to mention safety, peace & quiet, and quintessential New England town of Winthrop. If you're looking for a place to escape the sirens and tiny spaces found in the city, and surround yourself with water views, walks to the beach, a kind family and a very short train ride to the city, this is your place. I work at MGH as an RN and find the route to work to be incredibly easy. This home is closest to the blue line with a very easy walk/uber/bus to the train station. I personally enjoy walking to the train station and feel safe as a 30f the entire time. The blue line has connections to many other lines, but if MGH is your hospital, you can be at work within 30min and drink coffee the entire way.
