A Wonderful Summer Stay with an Amazing Host
We stayed at Carol's basement apartment in Richmond, VA for three months during my summer internship with my wife and our 3-year-old son, and had a truly wonderful experience. The location is excellent, very convenient, close to Chesterfield Town Center and grocery stores, in a welcoming neighborhood. Carol is an amazing host; caring, thoughtful, and very accommodating. She went above and beyond to ensure our comfort, from welcoming us with thoughtful gifts for our toddler to letting him enjoy her grandsons' toys. Her sweet dog, Rossie, was also a delight. On July 4th, Carol hosted a potluck breakfast where we met many lovely neighbors, making our stay even more special. The apartment itself is perfectly designed for a comfortable stay, and we felt at home throughout. We will remember this summer fondly and would love to meet Carol again. Highly recommend her place for anyone seeking a warm and convenient home away from home.
A Dream Stay
The space was absolutely what was promised. Mrs. C was such a delightful soul; sweet, kind, and caring. She made me feel safe and gave me a since of belonging while being so far away from my loving family. I never once felt like a stranger in her home. Sweet Rosie, her well mannered dog, even gave me much needed cuddles. The room itself is a stylish, sleek room, with black out curtains included. (Much needed as a night shift nurse) The windows are sound proof, I not once heard any commotion outside, even though I am a light sleeper. The bed was super comfy and clean, with many pillows to help accommodate me. The bathroom was clean and freshly renovated. Everything I needed, she made sure I had! Many shopping centers near the house, everything no further than an 8 minute drive. The neighborhood itself is a safe, family oriented area. If I ever take another travel assignment to Richmond (VCU), I will be staying here again.
Quiet and spacious apartment with a wonderful owner
I stayed here during my summer internship in Richmond in 2022, and I would give it a 7-star rating if Furnished Finder allowed. First, the house is situated in an ideal neighborhood, close to stores, gas stations, hospitals, etc., but just far enough to avoid the hustle and bustle of the city; perfect for remote work. The house itself is impressive considering the price, and it had all the amenities that I needed. I had my room and a private bathroom, and the kitchen was hardly used, so it was easy to have privacy. A cleaning lady also visited a couple of times per month to clean the whole house including my room and bathroom at no extra cost to me. Last but most importantly, the owner is an extremely nice and supportive grandma who will usually go out of her way to make you feel comfortable. Staying at this apartment certainly improved my overall experience in Richmond.
