Didn't return security deposit within lawful timeframe

He initially appeared professional and corrected his mistake after sending a lease for $1,800 when the unit was advertised at $1,650.Unfortunately,that was the last time he consistently acted in good faith.After asking to keep communication strictly business,I respected that request and limited all contact to tenancy matters.From then on,his treatment of me became increasingly unreasonable.Once,he required me to clean the pellet stove with a spoon,refused to reimburse me for three bags of pellets I purchased while he was away for a month,and twice allowed water shutoff notices because utility bills were not paid.I also paid to have the couch professionally cleaned because it smelled so bad it was unusable.At move-out,he ignored Oregon law by failing to return my security deposit or provide an itemized accounting within the required 31 days.Despite paying rent on time and following the lease,I was not treated fairly.I have receipts and documentation to support every statement made here.

Excellent stay

Jake was always available if needed and went above and beyond. On our last day I had an Amazon package that was late. Jake went out of his way to return the package for me, even though I was not longer his tenant. The location is fantastic, 2 blocks from the Bay on one side and 2 blocks from trails in a beautiful park on the other side. We enjoyed Oregon and having a cozy place to come home to at the end of each day. I also really appreciated the detailed list of other trails to visit that Jake and his daughter left for us.

Excellent Rental!

This apartment is very cozy! Beds are firm but comfy, (I slept great and am very picky abt beds!) Kitchen was equipped with mostly everything you need. Everything was very clean. The landlord was on top of any issue I brought to his attention and was fixed within 24 hours. Excellent rental for privacy yet close to town and the beach. 10/10 would recommend to anyone looking for a nice place in Coos Bay.
