Original fireplace (non-working). If you look close, there are rose inlays engraved in the antique metal cast iron FP insert.

Original heartpine flooring through-out the home. off to the hallway is the kitchen, bathroom, main sleeping room. The bedroom off the living rm is the flex room and we recently added a tv on the wall in 2026.

Front Flex Bedroom

Located at the front of the home just off the living room, this bright, naturally sun-lit room from south-facing windows is designed as a multi-purpose flex space for traveling nurses.

We collaborated with traveling nurse Colleen, whose helpful input inspired the layout of this room. The space works perfectly as a getting-ready room, remote work area, or comfortable place for an occasional weekend guest.

What was once a full-size bed has been upgraded to a Queen bed, making it ideal for visiting family during holiday stays or a guest stopping over for the weekend while the night-shift nurse can sleep peacefully during daytime hours in the quiet primary bedroom at the back of the home.

The room also includes a workstation and chair for remote work days, a mirror and closet with organizer to make getting dressed easy, and plenty of space to store your weekend-warrior gear.

Front flex room for remote working on desk & chair, dressing room, yoga work out room. There is a mirror on closet door. Closet has hangers and drawers for getting dressed and organizing wkend clothing. No blackout curtains because the dedicated sleeping nurse room is in the back Primary Room.

Main sleeping room has a Queen bed. Firm mattress with pillowtop. You can bring your own favorite bedding & pillows (please request if you prefer us to provide bedding)

Primary Sleeping Room

The main sleeping room is thoughtfully set up for traveling professionals who need quiet, restful sleep between shifts. Located in the back of the home, this room features north-facing windows with blackout curtains to keep the space cool, dark, and ideal for daytime sleeping.

The room includes a comfortable queen bed, nightstand, and closet, and is conveniently located next to the bathroom.

We intentionally chose this rear bedroom as the primary sleeping space because it is the quietest room in the house. The brighter bedroom at the front of the homewith its afternoon south-facing windowsis perfect if you have an occasional overnight guest or visiting family member, allowing the primary sleeper to keep their peaceful retreat in the back of the home.

This setup helps maintain a restful environment for medical professionals working varying shifts.

Thank you nurse Jake from Texas, whose wife loved Lil Gem so much she handpainted an original Oil Painting for Lil Gem. She named it Marigold. Marigold will be the star of Lil Gem.

We got ya covered! sun-block drapery in Primary bedroom only where nurse sleeps (Drapes get changed out during seasons and may not match exactly in photos)

Flex room is perfect for visiting family and friends especially during holidays. Larger room boasts perfect room to dress, store wkend clothes in closet, a mirror. Dedicated work space (desk & office chair) sets you up to remote work on off days from hospital.

Antique-style dresser furniture has been converted for a vanity

Tiled flooring, walls invoke a spa-atmosphere.

Custom cut vanity top to match the furniture shape and a white bowl

The blue oval braided rug was the very last one hand-made by an adorable lady in Dallas who finally retired in her 90's from weaving these oval rugs.

Brightly lit up during the daytime with the south facing sunlight. At night, recessed lighting makes the kitchen bright.

New Stainless appliances - Stove, Microwave, Dishwasher, Refrigerator (installed July 2022)

Plenty of unique non-chain eateries downtown Belmont but you can always be the chef here with a fully-stocked kitchen.

Air Fryer, Blender, Toaster, Crock Pot, Toaster Oven, and even a mini Waffle Maker for one!

Lots of sunshine in this full-sized kitchen from the South Facing new windows!

Kitchen has a door that has a dead-bolt lock leading to the laundry room. Cleaning supplies, Washer/Dryer located here. Room not heated/cooled. You can leave the door open when doing laundry and lock at other times.

Laundry room with ironing board, iron, broom, vacuum cleaner etc... There is a small window that gets afternoon/evening sun and a backdoor with a storm door that leads to the backyard.

No worries coming home in the dark of winter. Brightly lit motion sensor light will welcome you as you park your car in the driveway

No big stairs to climb, just 3 steps and you're on the cutest little porch ever!

No southern porch would be complete without a porch swing and bead board wood ceiling painted blue!

Morning coffee or afternoon tea tastes better on the swing!

Wonderful experience

We were displaced from Hurricane Helene for 321 days and could not have expected a more wonderful place to stay. Little Gem is such a cozy, clean and secure home - it has anything we could ever need. Hana and Z continually asked if there was anything we needed and took care of it immediately (we broke a cabinet once!). They take great pride in taking care of their guests and their home - both inside and outside. The yard's flowers were absolutely beautiful and brought gorgeous butterflies and hummingbirds. We loved going into Belmont for runs, walks, their farmer's market, and great restaurants - among many other things it offers. Without a doubt, anyone staying at the Little Gem will have the same great experience we did.

We absolutely loved having you (T & C) and a local couple down the street not that far. BTW, now we are hooked on your Boulder chips lol. Thank you for the nice comments!

The Perfect Stay

I had an internship in the Charlotte area for 3 months and my wife and I needed a place to stay where we didnt have to move any of our stuff. Hann made this so easy for us. She took us in a virtual tour of the property and made sure everything was perfect when we got there. We had such a great time and the property was super close to everything in Charlotte and only a small drive away from fun recreational places like lake lure.

An Absolute Gem

The Little Gem was absolutely perfect for our month long stay. The cottage is equipped with basically everything you need to enjoy a long or short time there. Everything is clean, the beds are very comfortable, the kitchen is completely stocked with just about everything youd need and there is more space than youd expect in a house of this size. The neighborhood is very quiet and it felt very safe staying here. Convenient location to downtown Belmont, the airport, downtown Charlotte and the mountains are only a short drive away. H was an amazing host to us - very responsive to texts and took care of any needs immediately. I would gladly stay at this property again as it really had all of the comforts of home and was a wonderful space to spend time.

A true Gem!

If I could give this a house a 10/10 I would! This house truly is a gem! I felt right at home here and Hana is the best landlord there is! Quiet neighborhood and short distance to the city! No issues getting Ubers into the city and close to the airport! I will definitely miss this place!

You are truly a wonderful nurse and tenant. Love you and want you back soon!!!

Great house, great owners, great town

Stayed here for more than 13 weeks while working at Caromont. Hana was so help with anything we needed. We love the town of Belmont so much I could see us settling here in the future. Would recommend! The house is beautifully renovated/comfortable/clean and has everything we need! Great location close to airport, work and downtown Belmont and downtown Charlotte is 15 minute drive.
