Amazing, peaceful sanctuary!

Brenda and Bodhi were the absolute best hosts! Her place is so peaceful and welcoming, and perfectly situated in Portland to be close enough to all the attractions while still offering a tranquil getaway from the noise of the city. She allowed me my privacy but was also available for friendly conversations and gave me great recommendations for things to see around the city. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a comfy, clean, and cozy place to stay. Would definitely stay here again the next time I'm in Portland! Thank you, Brenda!

Wonderful accommodations for medical student rotation

Brenda was a lovely, welcoming host and made my rotation at OHSU feel like a second home. She was very respectful of privacy and her home was tidy, well furnished, and very cozy. The location is less than a 10min drive up the hill to OHSU and parking was very convenient. Would absolutely recommend her place for any rotators!

Best place for foreign female travelers

I came to the US for the first time to work at Portland State University. I knew nothing about what living in the US would be like. Brenda gave all the support I needed. She is truly amazing! She helped me with everything I needed and took care of me as if I were a member of her family. I could stay an entire winter there, and I can tell that it is really amazing, warm, and cozy. Everything is so beautiful and works so well that it's really a sanctuary! During the summer, the AC also works very well. The room is quite charming, the bed is super comfortable, and the bath is very relaxing! I would not think twice about booking the room again. Bodhi (her kitty) is the most lovely cat I have met in my life. He is so friendly with everyone, I am sure you would love living with him too, and having the opportunity to give him a little treat! My favorite part of the house is the balcony, where most of Brendas flowers are. I used to love working there while the hummingbirds flew around it.

Fantastic - above and beyond expectations

From the very get go having a preference of heavy bedding or lighter sheets, coffee vs tea, and having toiletries provided for me on arrival I knew Brenda puts all her care to ensuring her guests have the best stay they can have. As a medical student, she always ensured the place was in tip top condition and reminded me of any garbage or recycling days. The shared spaces were always clean and in great condition. Everything in the house was labeled so it was easy to find everything. I felt safe at all times. My room was fantastic! I was able to sleep without a problem. . The bathroom was great and Brenda made sure to keep it stocked with any toilet paper, soap, shampoo, etc. I was very lucky to not need to do a retail run. I would recommend to everyone to stay with her and if I am ever back in the Portland area I would definitely stay here again.

A place I will never forget!

Staying at Brendas sanctuary is more than just finding a home away from homeits a truly healing experience. From day one, Brenda made everything so easy and stress-free. Not only did I have a home, but I also found an incredible host and hopefully a friend for life. One of the highlights of my year was her cat, Boddhi. He is such a beautiful soul, full of love and calm energy, and he truly made my time here even more special. If youre hesitating, dont! Staying here changed my life, and everyone who visited me during the year said the same thing: the energy in this place is just magical.

Truly a Sanctuary

I've stayed at a lot of places in the Portland area and this is hands down the best! It truly is a sanctuary where you will feel at home, at peace and rested. The neighborhood is quiet and safe yet convenient. Brenda is the most gracious host with excellent communication and there isn't an amenity, appliance, or convenience that's missing. And maybe most importantly...the bed is THE most comfortable I have ever slept in so be prepared for some of the best sleep of your life!

Amazing Stay at Sanctuary in the City

B has an amazing place that is beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean with all of the essential stainless steel appliances. I appreciated little details like the Dyson fan, fireplace, and extra amenities in the bathroom and kitchen! B's place is conveniently located to many different neighborhoods by car and parking is easy in the driveway. Grocery stores are within a 2-5 mile radius just outside of the city center. She has a close network of neighbors ready and willing to help at the drop of a hat. B, herself, was extremely responsive and expedient in arranging for things to be fixed should the situation arise. I also enjoyed the close proximity to nature within the neighborhood which was super easy to walk down by the river or hop on the hiking trails in the neighborhood. Bodhi, B's cat, and I bonded and it was hard to leave him. Bodhi is very independent and likes to do his own thing which makes caring for him super easy and fun! Best long term stay ever!
