A Gem Of A Place

My stay here has been outstanding in many ways: 1) Safety: A really safe and quiet neighborhood. 2) Location : Commuting to different parts of LA is easier and you can find different restaurants, stores nearby. Not to mention the beautiful beach, which is a couple of steps away. 3) Landlord : He is a man of character and integrity. He is always willing to help and extremely thoughtful. 4) Puppies: They are really sweet, happy and loving. They will turn you to being a dog person easily.

God Sent

It was such a great experience staying here. I stayed for 3 months and felt so safe here. If work had extended my contract I would have stayed longer. The Landlord was so hospitable, respectful, kind and generous. Since the very first day I asked about touring the room, Howard was very flexible, thoughtful, and accommodating. If I had any concern or questions about anything regarding the room, restroom, washer/dryer, kitchen or alarm system he quickly responded. He provided locks for the room and restroom which made me feel heard, and extra safe when he and the dogs were away. Even though I worked nights, he still made it work, to where I could sleep during the day. The room had double windows and he was always so quiet, and the room is dark enough to sleep during the day. The room also has dimmable lighting, Alexa to help dim the lights and other things if you're a tech savvy person, the temperpedic mattress helped me sleep like a baby.

Wonderful experience

Stay there if you can! I stayed there in early Spring and had an excellent experience. It was like living on a private beach. The house was beautiful, clean, all first class appliances and the gel cooled tempurpedic may have been the highlight. I was worried about the drive to Cedars Sanai in West Hollywood because of LA traffic, but it wasnt bad at all. The cute little town about a block away had everything you could ask for.. restaurants, bars, coffee shops. And you are right on the beach bike path as soon as as you walk out the door. The owner was great. Constantly being thoughtful and asking if I needed anything even offering to pick up stuff from the market before I even arrived. And the pups are so sweet and cuddly if you like dogs. I wish I could give more than 5 stars.

great location, but several reasons to rent elsewhere

Doorknobs of bed/bathroom do not have locks. Communication to coordinate the alarm is one-sided. I did not want to keep the door to the bedroom open throughout my stay so H insisted on weekly inspections of the room which technically never happened since there seemed to be a practical reason he needed to enter the room little/no prior warning. I did not appreciate him touching me without my consent even if the context of the convo was about commiserating about health issues. I did not encourage passes such as, "if only you were ten years older or if I was ten years younger. There are cameras throughout the space. Place does not look like the pictures not clean/tidy. The living room/patio double as his woodshop. Limited access to closet/dresser/kitchen cabinets. He could have charged me for the stain on the floor which I couldnt prove to be/not be my fault, but he returned my entire deposit. All in all, this set up was not a good fit for me for these and several other reasons.

Great Option

First of all lets start with the property being nice, clean and not to mention spacious. In a great location. Playa del Rey is charming! Its located beachfront, beautiful views of the ocean, easily accessible for walks, and commute options. It comes with a secure parking space that is very convenient to have use of. The owner is very helpful and welcoming. As a female I felt safe there during my stay. I would stay again!

Beachfront Rental

A great place to stay while working at Cedars Sinai in West Hollywood. The house has everything you need and is right on the beach. It is very clean, comes with an alarm system and two friendly dogs who will love your attention. Private bedroom and bath with a comfortable king size bed. Reserved parking space in a garage under the complex, which is very convenient. Restaurants and bike rentals within walking distance to rent a bike and ride along the beach path. The owner, H, is very knowledgeable of the area and has many recommendations.
