SAFETY ISSUES & Multiple Code Violations

Unit is located in HIGH CRIME AREA!! NONREFUNDABLE DEPOSIT - when asked about $500 deposit, her response was “I don’t have money.” This is very irresponsible!! NO KITCHEN SINK!! She lives downstairs having entire 1st floor to herself. For renters, there is small hall upstairs that she calls kitchen. She rents 2 rooms upstairs with a sharing tiny hall and bathtub next to toilet designated for washing dishes. NO WATER - One day she even cut off water!! When I ask water situation, she ignored. Due to lack of water, toilet was full of urine and feces. This is landlord negligence!! FIRE HAZARD - Her locks can only be locked from the inside of the house with the physical key, if you loose your key while at home, you will not be able to get out of the house in case of FIRE!! LANDLORD THREATS/ASSAULTS - She constantly threatened me with her ridiculous demands. She even said “I will call my friend cop on you.” This is illegal to use her friend cop with threats. She was the WORST landlord ever!!

Meets basic needs

Pros: Good location if you want to be close to ND, walk-in closet, claw-foot tub with shower. hotel type kitchenette in the hallway (basic microwave, one-slot toaster, and coffee maker with a mini refrigerator). location is close to several diners, parks, and walking trails. Cons: Inefficient window AC in the hallway outside of room, no TV, so bring your own streaming device, full-size bed (not queen like in the description), loud, busy, narrow street so if you sleep with the windows open, you'll hear traffic, many vacant homes in the neighborhood with questionable crime rate so the front door must remain locked even if you're just walking to your car and back. The host is nice and enjoys the company. She wants to go on outings with you. We enjoyed a Silver beach outing with her granddaughter. I attended a baby shower she hosted for her friend and dinner invitations during my stay. She has the cutest dog that loves people. He is a joy.

Nice place

Nice room. Lots of windows!! Clean home. Comfortable bed. Hostess was nice and made me breakfast a couple of times. Private upstairs bedroom and bathroom. I appreciated that the hostess was quiet and gave me my privacy. Everything I needed was provided. I appreciated that the home was free from odors, perfumes, and smoke. It was a pleasant stay.

Clean and convenient location

I spent few months in the house; the home was always clean and the host was accommodating my requests. Laundry in house. Close to all strategic locations of South Bend city. Separate front entry was also working in my advantage when coming home tired and wanted no interaction. The host is very friendly. Convenient parking across the street or in front of the garage. Highly recommended!

DONT STAY HERE!!!!!

Don't stay here!! No perfume or cologne. Can't use the kitchen, no scented soap, dryer sheets, no hot plate, electric blanket, heater, if you go to your car and go back inside you have to lock the front door. No big trash bags. No candles and you can't wear your shoes in the house. Tiny refrigerator and small microwave. I broke my verbal agreement with her because I couldn't stand to walk around on eggshells anymore. Be careful and you have to bring your own tv. She only excepts cash no Venmo Zelle cash app or personal check
