• Welcome to my home, a little gem tucked into a quiet, friendly Portland neighborhood. I have one bedroom available for a woman renter. People often comment on how much character the house has and how cozy and inviting it feels. There are windows everywhere, so it's full of lovely natural light. It's city living with plenty of nature right outside, so you can take in all that Maine has to offer through the seasons.

This is a home share with one bedroom available - the room is comfortably furnished with a high-quality queen mattress with linens, a bedside table, a dresser, a closet, and a desk and chair. It has good lighting throughout, with an overhead light, a bedside lamp, and four windows with shades. The second bedroom is rented to a kind housemate, and I use the third bedroom when I'm in Portland, as I travel overseas part of the year...
House is on a small, dead end street in a safe, quiet neighborhood.
Wonderful home away from home!
I spent three months in this lovely cottage while transitioning to life in Maine. It quickly felt like home. Located on a quiet dead-end street, the cottage was light-filled and welcoming, with a beautiful covered front porch and a charming glassed-in side porch. The peaceful backyard was another highlight. I loved listening to the songbirds, relaxing in the outdoor conversation area, and having a grill available for cooking. The home was furnished in a comfortable, minimalist style. The kitchen was well appointed with everything I needed, and I was welcome to use it whenever I wished. The bed was very comfortable, and the thoughtful lighting throughout the cottage created a warm, relaxing atmosphere. What made my stay especially meaningful was Ashley and her nearby family. They warmly included me in several family gatherings, giving me a wonderful sense of connection and belonging during an important time of transition. Anyone would be lucky to stay here.
Would LOVE to have stayed forever!
I am a UNE grad student with 2 small dogs, and stayed during the fall semester between clinicals. I absolutely loved the Grafton house and wished I could have never left. The house is fantastic, and has everything you may need. I absolutely loved Charlotte! She is the sweetest person ever, and very respectful of your space. Her little dog, Betty White, is the cutest thing ever. She's sweet as can be and very quiet. Her and my dogs were all best friends and loved each other. I also got to meet her family, and everyone was so welcoming and friendly. We were so sad to go, and will definitely be visiting and hanging out again when we are back in town!
Convenient, Comfortable, Charming
The Grafton street home is the perfect place to stay in Portland, Maine for traveling or local professionals. It truly has the best of everything. Conveniently located to downtown Portland, and easy freeway access for North or South commuters. Comfortable large room with en-suite bathroom. As well as use of the shared home- it's cozy and inviting, but not crowded with stuff. It's also charming, like quintessential Maine living... Welcoming front porch, cozy indoor space, sunroom, and a large backyard space. Most of all, Charlotte and Betty (the dog) are so easy going and likeable! Charlotte is attune to what tenants need, very personable, and respectful of a roommates' space and schedule. "Welcome Home" was a common greeting, and Betty the dog is so adorable! You will love the Grafton House.
Great location and home away from home.
This furnished finders property is outstanding. Private, quiet neighborhood close to all that Portland, Maine has to offer. House mate is kind, quiet and respectful. The bedroom is spacious with plenty of room for clothes and a desk to work at. I am a healthcare provider and very much enjoyed all of my time at this location with Charlotte.
Great House Mate
Charlotte is a great house mate. I lived with her for 4 months and we're still friends 3 years later. She is considerate and does what she can to make the stay comfortable for everyone. Should misunderstandings arise, she's happy to discuss in a reasonable manner. My cat, Bubby, enjoyed the backyard and got along well with Betty, Charlotte's dog. The house is in a central area off of a quiet street with parks nearby.
Just the best location and house!
Perfect Maine stay! As a travel nurse, I lived here almost 4 months and loved every moment. Close to ocean, amazing food, and pet-friendly, yet feels like the quietest neighborhood. Charlotte is an incredible host and Betty White (the cutest dog ever!) made it feel like home. Private room and bath gave me all the space I needed. The backyard is great for relaxing, but the front porch is pure magic - my favorite coffee spot! Close to everything but peacefully private. Highly recommend for travel nurses or anyone wanting the perfect Maine experience. Would definitely stay again! 5 stars!
