Approach With Caution
This is a nice house to stay in, with some tasteful updates and a good amount of living space. The back patio is especially well-done and inviting. Regrettably, the unit suffers from poor management by a landlord who lives out of state. I would not stay here again for that reason, and I've listed some of the issues I encountered in my 6 month stay below: -The unit is listed as including utilities. This is only true up to the first $150 every month. The tenant is responsible for paying the total of gas, water, and electric that exceeds $150. We paid between $82 - $257 dollars per months for utilities, depending on the time of year. -When I arrived the house was not clean. Cobwebs, dog hair, a crushed Sprite can in a drawer, an old sock on the ceiling fan, and unclean kitchen utensils are just some examples. The landlord apologized and sent a new cleaning crew, who also did a poor job. My boyfriend and I ended up doing most of the cleaning ourselves. -The unit is listed as including bathroom linens; it does not. -2 of the 4 stovetop burners do not work. The landlord's solution to this was to send us an electric 2-burner hot plate to cook with, instead of hiring someone to fix the stove. -The tenant is responsible for maintaining the front and back yards. The only tool provided to accomplish this is a small manual push mower that's better at bending over grass and weeds than it is at cutting them. The landlord claims that making the tenant responsible for lawn maintenance is standard practice, the push mower was provided as a courtesy, and that past tenants have either provided their own yard equipment or hired someone themselves to care for the lawn. Thank you for taking the time to read this review. The house is in a nice, quiet location with friendly neighbors, and it's a shame that it isn't better managed.
