Last few months review
R into a few issues with the landlords during my last 3mo stay. They didn't follow the lease which showed rent was due on the 5th of every month and tried to charge me a few more days for a prorated fee. They also insisted withholding a $250 cleaning fee (not stated on the lease) from my $1850 deposit while my lease stated I should get it returned fully. Regardless, since the husband gave me free football tickets, I agreed to gift them $200 towards cleaning even through it wasn't on the contract. On the final inspection, they told me they had to do very little cleaning to do as I was much cleaner than the last tenant, however also made remarks that I should have vacuumed/mopped the floor and cleaned the kitchen counter (things I did regularly - just not on that day) because it was given to me spotless and organized. This defeats the purpose of a $200 cleaning fee. Lastly, communication about when trash is out is inconsistent and lacking at times. Please be sure to know the lease.
