Great Place for a Professional
I got a job in DC (Smithsonian) and needed a place for a few months. Choosing this apartment was a great decision. You have a bus stop across the road that brings you to Petworth metro station. Fort Totten metro station is 20’ walk away. 5-10’ walk brings you to few small convenience stores. Aldi is about half an hour walk away, but I had them delivering my orders. There are a couple of good Chinese take-aways in short walking distance, a Jamaican restaurant, and more. The area is safe and pleasant, dominated by well taken care of hundred-year-old row houses. I always feel safe walking home at night. The apartment is sufficiently sized, renovated, clean, smells good, has everything you need, enough fridge space, a comfortable bed. A very good washer and dryer are in a room just outside the door. One of the best features of the apartment is the landlady, Sharol. She is very responsive and extremely helpful. I would come here again if I looked for an apartment for myself again.
comfortable
Sherol and Kevin were amazing host. They both were always pending for if we should need anything. The place was very clean and smelled good. Had everything that I needed for cleaning and cooking. The basement apartment is located centrally close to Walmart and Spanish stores. The bus and train are not far at all. There was always parking. My partner and I were very comfortable there. If I'm ever in Washington DC again for a travel contract will definitely attempt to stay there again if available.
Perfect Stay: Cozy Home, Great Location, and Outstanding Hosts!!
I recently had the pleasure of staying at this property managed by Sherol and her brother, and I can't recommend it enough. The house was not only cozy and in a safe area, but it was also perfectly located near major hospitals, which made my stay incredibly convenient. Sherol and her brother were exceptional hosts, always attentive and quick to resolve any issues that arose. Their regular check-ins were greatly appreciated and added a personal touch to my stay. Parking was never a concern, which was a huge plus, and the houses proximity to Washington, DCs top restaurants and attractions made exploring the city a breeze. This home provides a perfect blend of comfort and convenience. I truly enjoyed my stay and would gladly return.
Adorable Little Basement Apartment
This is a lovely place, in a nice area of town, and not far at all from the "busy DC." The apartment would be very comfortable for 1 person, but there was 2 of us, so it was slightly crampy, but we made it work just fine. The landlords are wonderful; sister and brother who work real well together. They're extremely accommodating, and both are quick to pick up their phone/answer a text. I worked at Children's, and it took me roughly 10-12 mins to drive to the garage. Plenty of street parking; I NEVER had an issue. I would definitely stay at this property again.
Well-furnished unit with owner who cares about the resident's stay
I stayed in the basement unit and had a great stay at this property. The unit: The unit looks great and has all the necessities. I felt it was spacious for my needs: dedicated areas to work, cook/eat, relax, and sleep. The bed and couch were very comfortable, and the blinds can keep light out well (a light sleeper's dream). The owner: The owner is very trustworthy, friendly, and communicative; no shadiness if you rent from her. She cares about the well-being of her residents and was thoughtful of my needs while staying in the unit. She would check in to ensure things were going well, communicate any relevant info to my stay, and worked to improve the unit where possible (e.g., adding a larger refrigerator and a Ring doorbell camera). The location: I found the neighborhood to have good character. I walked/jogged frequently--including at night--and never felt unsafe. There's a handful of restaurants and stores nearby, a bus stop right outside, and a Metro Station I walked to daily.
Awesome and attentive hosts
The property was clean and located in a safe neighborhood. The house is warm & inviting and full of natural lighting which I loved. The neighbors are friendly and my favorite spot is the porch. I'll rock back n forth in the rocking chair listening to wind chimes and soaking up the sun for days at a time. The host was very accommodating and super nice. You're not far from several attractions. The bus stop is right in front of the home. The host Sherol, was responsive to my questions. If she needed to stop by for any reason, she'll let you know days prior out of respect for your privacy. I had no issues at all! I will definitely stay there again. When I'm back in town.
Great place to stay! Excellent Landlord!!!
This was a great place to stay. The unit was comfortable and the location was easily accessible by public transportation. The property owners were excellent and immediately addressed any concern I had. It was also nice to connect with other healthcare travelers. I will definitely look to stay here again when I return to DC!
Wonderful stay
Beautiful home, with everything for a long-term stay!! The bedroom was clean, well decorated and lots of natural sunlight. The shared space is plenty for two. N was very friendly and responsive to communication. I loved the location just 20 minutes from downtown, DC museums, and the Wharf waterfront. Also easy commute to Bethesda MD for my job, whether driving or metro. Highly recommend!
Home away from home
To start- way better than a hotel. I am usually apprehensive about shared spaces, however my stay was nothing short of amazing. The attention to detail, decor, and attentiveness from N's' was awesome. As a night shifter I had restful days as the home and neighborhood are very quiet. Street parking was easy & and there's plenty in the area, I would suggest you need a car depending on where your work, but there is a bus stop right outside the home. I was really sad to leave! The place is exactly as pictured.
Cozy and convenient
This property is beautifully furnished and has everything you need to feel like home. Bed was very comfortable, and I had no problems finding on street parking. Was able to get to work in Georgetown on 20 minutes by car, but the bus stops directly in front of the house if you prefer public transportation. 5 stars, will stay sgsin and again.
